O h I couldn't agree with you more. As a rule I have only liked Tim Burton when Johnny has been in his films so I am really looking forward to Charlie.

Interestingly their next film venture together is an animation called The Corpse Bride.

The original Willy Wonka creeped me out as a child, but when I watch the original now, I find it to be quite brilliant.
