Hilarious Movies to Rent

Yeah, I know, everyone's already seen these.
Best in Show is f'ing hilarious; don't drink anything as you're watching it.

Snatch is also funny, but in a completely different way; it's not for the fainthearted or those with ears sensitive to, how you say, "bad language."

not quite everyone martha
Best In Show? Is that directed by the guy who was Nigel Tuffnel in Spinal Tap? I was trying to tell someone about it the other day, couldn't think of his name. Rob Reiner?

Just watched Snatch on video the other night. Heavy duty, the discrimination was heart-breaking...I know a few pig farmers too

The guy that played Nigel Tuffnel in Spinal Tap was Christopher Guest I believe.

Movies:
Office Space
Top Secret
High Fidelity
Real Genius

Yes, Christopher Guest wrote and directed Best in Show. And he's in it, too.

Doesn't Christopher Guest play the guy with six fingers in that classic movie The Princess Bride? Speaking of funny movies...that's one of my all-time favs!

He also wrote/directed/starred in "Waiting for Guffman", which is hilarious. It's another "mockumentary", about people in a small town trying to put a musical together. Same cast as "Best in Show"- Catherine O'Hara, Eugene Levy, Parker Posey, etc.

Another really funny film is "American Movie". It's a real documentary about an independent filmmaker from Wisconsin (Mark Borchardt), and follows his struggle to produce his horror film. The guy is a real character, and you couldn't have cast it better as far as all the people involved, histerical...

The Big Lebowski gets better with each viewing.

A few great lines:

"Hot damn, I'm throwin' rocks tonight. Mark it, Dude."

"That rug really tied the room together, did it not?"

"Fucking dog has papers, Dude.--Over the line!"

"Shut the fuck up, Donny. We'll, uh,
brace the kid--he'll be a pushover.
We'll get that fucking money, if he
hasn't spent it already. Million
fucking clams. And yes, we'll be
near the, uh--some burgers, some
beers, a few laughs. Our fucking
troubles are over, Dude."

Out of the ones already listed (that I've seen), I really like "Top Secret," "Real Genius," "The Princess Bride," and "The Big Lebowski." The only ones I would add are "Raising Arizona" (this is not representative of all Arizonans!) and "Brain Candy" (the movie by The Kids in the Hall).

funny movies............

hmm well I liked Snatch but thought that 'Lock, stock and two smoking barrels' was a lot more funnier......but my fave funny movies would have to be...

Clerks

Monty Python's Meaning of Life

Any comedy with Bill Murray in it

and the 'Best bits of the late show vol 1, 2 and 3'- (funniest Aussie comedy TV show) - if any Aussie out there has seen these or remembers the show, how was those impersenations that Rob Sitch used to do, especially the Imran Khan "like a tiger" one, hilarious stuff

"thankyou, thankyou, thankyou for coming out.....it's a nice place you got here, your lucky to live here.....some of our mates, ahhh, some of our mates get busted for hi-jacking aeroplanes, we get busted for wearing sandals, you know thats, thats cool.....alright thankyou for coming out and, and spending the big bucks to see Popmart, thanks alot"

Bono: Intro to 'I still havn't found what I'm looking for', ANZ Stadium Brisbane, February 25th 1998.....

"You're outta your league, U2ME3!" Just kidding. The Big Lebowski is great!

I also agree that Clerks is a great comedy.
