I love some hidden tracks and if the song is good I don't care if there is a gap or not between songs. Sometimes I think the gap is needed. For instance, I recently got the rerelease of an album and there were several extra tracks...the last being hidden and attached to the last song with a few minute gap between. In this case I don't mind it at all because the track, which I really enjoy (a whole lot actually!), doesn't really fit with the rest of the album. It's a spoken piece set over some really spooky soundscaping (it's "A Night In Hell" from Arthur Rimbaud's A Season In Hell). The gap allows the rest of the album to settle comfortably as a whole before this last little tidbit comes on and creeps you out.

well, if it's a song, and a GOOD song at that, then great.

but there has been many a time when i've waited 22 minutes and 28 seconds to hear 13 minutes of self-indulgent wanking.

not cool.
