I don't have a band... though I do play out occasionally under the moniker of "Whoa Baby!" (and everytime I play out under that name, I add another exclamation mark to the name).

But most the time, I just hop in and play 3 or 4 songs at freinds gig's or open mics. These are the songs I love to play in front of people(or no people at all too)...

"The Fuse" and "You'll Be Coming Down" (can't wait to play that one in front of my ex) -The Boss
"Stand By Me"- Ben King
"Retrovertigo"- Mr. Bungle
"We are all made of stars"-Moby (I had alot of fun throwing this on the end of "Linger" over St.Patty's day weekend)
"A Message"- Coldplay
"Self Control"-Laura Branigan
"On Your Own Again- Scott Walker
"Walk On"(with the big Hallelujah ending) and "City of Blinding Lights"

What are yours?

I hope this thread don't get killed...i think it could be fun!

One song and one song only, no joke--Goldfinger's immortal, tender, blistering "Fuck You and Your Cat."

Golden Smog - "Radio King"
Loose Fur - "The Ruling Class"
Wilco - "Remember the Mountain Bed"
Bright Eyes - "Lua"
Bright Eyes - "You Will You Will :blahblah:"
The National - "Slow Show"
Damien Rice - "Older Chests"
Iron & Wine - "Naked as We Came"
Bob Dylan - "Don't Think Twice It's All Right"

Hi oh!

I always throw one or two covers in my shows...

These are some I've done:

'Long Black Veil' - Johnny Cash
'Running to a Stand Still' - U2
'Stars Go Blue' - Ryan Adams
'Oh My Sweet Carolina' - Ryan Adams
'Unchained Melody' - Righteous Brothers
'Fake Plastic Trees' - Radiohead
'Waterfalls' - TLC (no lie)
'Laid' - James
'Don't Dream it's Over' - Crowded House

Nice picks with the Crowded House and U2 songs.

I played The Coors version of Stars Go Blue over St. Patty's day.
