All of my family lives in a small town on the Pamlico River in eastern north carolina...I called my grandmothers house and the phone kept ringing and the answering machine never picked up, so I'm assuming she lost power. Hopefully she's taken refuge with one of my aunts there in town whose house isn't right on the river.

*Is fascinated by severe weather, too* My interest tends to lean more towards tornadoes, though, as I've mentioned here before. But hey, to each their own . And I can kinda understand the smiley used, too-after all, I'd be that way if we got a snowstorm. Obviously, I don't want anyone to get hurt, but I LOVE snowstorms, so....

Anywho, take care, U2democrat and your family, hope that things don't get too nasty for you guys out there. Same goes for everyone else who's experiencing this thing . Stay safe and be careful, guys.

Angela

The water got really high at my grandmother's house...but I don't think any got in. The only problem is that the storm surge will be going back east and that could affect her...so I guess we'll see.

I'm really fascinated with weather. I'm always checking on the weather and if we are about to get a severe thunderstorm I get giddy. I know, odd.

I like severe thunderstoms too .

Unless the lightning fries the TV/Computer or if the power is knocked out for a couple of hours . But if everything's still functioning normally in the house (and I'm inside of course), they're kind of cool .

Not fun to drive in of course.
