i am trying to find some new music. i've listened to htdaab about 200 times, and i love it but i need some other good new music.

my taste is somewhat varied- my favorites are:
wilco
radiohead
ratm
queens of the stone age
beck
pearl jam
mars volta
trail of dead
my morning jacket

recent cd's i bought and have liked:
the killers
matt kearney
joseph arthur
kings of leon
john spencer blues explosion

cd's i bought recently don't get:
franz ferdinand
scissor sisters
interpol (both albums have 3 good songs, and a bunch of filler)

so any suggestions. i am not trying to start a debate on the ones i don't like- i'm just hoping by giving some of my likes / dislikes i will get some good suggestions.

Have you heard Morrissey's album (yes, I realize he's been around for ages), "You Are the Quarry"? It's pretty effing brilliant, especially if you're a fan of the Smiths (though not quite as gifted with the imagery as he was then, his lyrics are still generally razor-sharp)

I'll second that. Not a single filler (well maybe except the first song).

Check out "Funeral" by the Arcade Fire, it's on Merge.
Also, "In the Aeroplane Over the Sea" by Neutral Milk Hotel (not new but still great)
and maybe Numbers, Erase Errata, the Rapture, and Point Line Plane - all dancey stuff with a kick.
oh, and Mudhoney if you dig Pearl Jam-their last album "Since We've Become Translucent" is awesome and they're back on SubPop.

Here's a few suggestions...
Porcupine Tree - In Absentia
Aereogramme - Sleep and Release
Drive By Truckers - The Dirty South
Migala - La Increible Aventura
The Gunshy - No Man's Blues
Sun Kil Moon - Ghosts Of The Great Highway

Try
Ocean Colour Scene
Razorlight
Kasabian
The Libertines
Black Rebal Motorcycle club
Muse

The Music and Morrisey -

and for some strange reason I like (maybe you will too)
Dogs Die in Hot Cars - I love you cause I have to
Straylight Run - Existentialism on Prom Night

Both of these groups are AWESOME! Definitely try Muse if you like Radiohead.

There's a new Mars Volta out??? When???
De-loused in the Comatorium was friggin' genius!!!

A lot of people who like Mars Volta also like Coheed & Cambria. I haven't heard it myself though so I can't vouch for it personally.
