Ok, I'm making volume 4 of my Collection of Great Songs series, to be titled "Flag wavers". I need some good anthems. I'm already using Where the Streets Have No Name, but from there it's an empty slate. No more U2 songs. I really need a Radiohead tune, and an Oasis tune to use, but I can't narrow either down. The Oasis one needs to be Liam-sung, because I've had Noel on the first three volumes already.

As for negative flag-wavers, how about Born in the USA and Fortunate Son??

Any songs by any bands are open to suggestion, folks. Didn't mean to make it sound strictly those three bands, I just want those three to at least have some representation

Bryan Adams--Summer of 69, Cuts like a Knife

Simple Minds--Ghostdancing, Sanctify Yourself

Police--Message in a Bottle (well, maybe if you stretch the definition of "anthem")

Hmmm, that's harder than I thought it would be.

Oasis: Live forever
Radiohead: The National Anthem isn't anthemic enough, so take...um...maybe Black Star, dunno. Their songs seem to sad to be "Flag wavers"
Travis: Sing
Manic Street Preachers: So why so sad or No surface all feeling

As far as Radiohead being too sad for anthems, in a way you're right, but..... Street Spirit might work, it's so powerfully depressing it's anthemic. And for Oasis, I've decided to go with Go Let it Out.

Either my eyes have not processed the information properly, or else no one here has mentioned the best Oasis flag-waver of them all....

"Don't Look Back In Anger"
