help me buy my mom's birthday present

my mom saw david byrne on tv and thought his music was cool so she wants his cd/s for her b'day. i don't own any and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations. particularly more ethnic sounding. i'm not sure if that's the right word but hopefully you know what i mean.

and she also wants salsa cd's. (i'll bet sicy sicy cha cha cha can help me here too.) something more instrumental rather than vocal. any ideas?

I think David released an album in the late 80's that had an "ethnic" feel, lots of good beats and such....

but I don't know the name of it offhand.
