Okay her's the deal, my brother is getting a divorce. She emailed him this info at work. Turns out she has been cheating on him and on top of that has extorted thousands of dollars from him. My brother has a heart of gold and truly loved and trusted this woman. We all did. This came out of nowhere and he is angry but also so deeply heatbroken. She shattered his heart.

So I want to send my brother some music with anger themes and moving on themes. Anything that would be healing. I am going to send him Actung Baby but if any of you have suggestions for songs that have helped you out during a rough time I would greatly appreciate it.

Peace.

Oh, this is a good one.

How about...

"Hunter" Dido
"Things Have Changed" Bob Dylan
"Get Gone" Fiona Apple
"That Thing" Lauryn Hill
"Baby Did a Bad Bad Thing" Chris Isaak
"Superman" R.E.M.
"You Oughta Know" Alanis Morissette (duh)
"The National Anthem" Radiohead (although it has very few words, I think it's good pissed off song)
"Thought I Knew You" Matthew Sweet
"We Don't Get Fooled Again" the Who
"Girl You Have No Faith in Medicine" the White Stripes
"This Love" Maroon 5

I'll probably think of more later, too.

sinead oconnor - shes got lots of angry music

but then again her anger songs are aimed at men - sorry.

every since my partner cheated on me i've listen to nothing but sinead's "Troy"

i thought i could help but im looking at it from a chick point with my choice of music. i dont know any other male based bands that have brought out anger music, except eminem

The Life and Death of Mr Badmouth - PJ Harvey

Baby, you got a bad bad mouth
Everything is poison that's coming out
Cheating, lying since the day you were born
Someone outta rinse it out with soap

Wash it out, wash it out, wash it out

No kind words are coming out of your mouth
Plenty goes in but nothing good comes out
Badmouth, sad mouth, you were an unhappy child
That doesn't make your lying tongue alright

Wash it out, wash it out, wash it out

Cos everything is poison
You'll be the unhappy one
Your lips taste of poison
You're gonna be left alone

When you told me every word you said
Came from voices talking in your head
Baby, I just think you're out for what you can get
Your badmouth has killed off everything we had

Wash it out, wash it out, wash it out

Cos everything is poison
You'll be the unhappy one
Your lips taste of poison
You'll be in the corner crying

Magnetic Fields, The Desperate Things You Made Me Do is one of my favorites, I don't know how many times I've played it over the past year. :grumpy:

Time provides the rope
But love will tie the slipknot
And I will be the chair you kick away
You don't even like anything you like
Or the people you know
And all of your reasons to stay alive died
I dedicate this song to you
For all the desperate things you made me do
I'd like to beat you black and blue
For all the agony you have put me through
Front seat stained with love
A back full of bibles
Purloined from the drawers of lost motels
They say when you're older you'll understand
You know it's a lie
'cause you've got a twisted and mangled heart
Down Route 66
You pilfered love and green stamps
W.C. Fields with Mae West in your eyes
They say every clock's a blunt instrument
Crushing the skull
But you've got a vice to rest your head in

lemme see what else I have.

I have a hard time listening to anything when I'm depressed from a recent event (breakup/death/etc) cause I know that in the future I will associate that song or band with that depressing event and won't be able to listen to them without thinking about that.

That's just me though.

good angry music that i can think of off the top of my head:

'head like a hole' nine inch nails
'wish' nine inch nails
'body burn' cubanate
'rub til it bleeds' pj harvey

sinead's 'troy' is one of the best angry songs ever, and i second pj's 'life and death of mr badmouth'.

i think the new U2 song 'mercy' could be helpful too. it's dark and achtung-ish.

Thank you guys so much! I will totally be listening to these songs and sending them to him. He has a tough road ahead of him and I am positive that music can help his long road to recovery.
