I don't believe any of McCartney's older kids cared for Heather and they've been quite vocal about letting Pops know this. That said, I am sure Paul has heard quite enough of "I told you so".

I also feel for Beatrice. Let's just hope she will have enough influence in her life from her father and his side so that she's well balanced and doesn't turn out to be like her mother. Well, aside from the charity work which is all well and nice but anyone can do that in their lifetime.

I'm still amazed that Paul didn't sign a pre-nup with with woman. Just amazed.

I must be nice to collect around 130 million for a couple of years of marriage. Why on earth does she need that much money. It's not like they were together for 25 years or something.

Beatrice could receive an allowance that is looked after by trustees. Any money Heather would receive could be donated to charities. That way the child is looked after but Heather sees little of Paul's hard earned cash. She contributed nothing to his back catalogue which is where most of his cash comes from.

She's done nothing in terms helping earning Macca's fortune. They have a child so of course, after a couple of years of marriage she should get some sort of payout for that, but in no way should it be tens of millions just cos of amount of money Macca has.

Vile woman in my book

Heather Mills or any mention of her just really makes me sick. She really seems to be a gold digger. So what for her charity work? That to me doesn't seem genuine either.

I just saw on the CNN website that they've finally reached a settlement and she's getting almost $ 50 M.

Personally, I'm horrified that she got such an enormous sum......but what right do I have to judge?

++++

LONDON, England (CNN) -- Former Beatle Paul McCartney's estranged wife said Monday she had been awarded nearly $50 million as a judge made a final ruling in their divorce battle.

Heather Mills told reporters outside court that she was "so glad" the long-running court battle was over, naming the final settlement figure as £23.7 million ($47.5 million).

McCartney and Mills failed to agree on a settlement ending their four-year marriage in divorce hearings last month, leaving Judge Hugh Bennett to decide the terms.

The figure fell short of the previous record for a litigated divorce settlement in Britain is £48 million ($96 million), handed down last year, said British divorce lawyer Julian Lipson

He offered 15 million pounds, she wanted 125, and she got 23.7.

She's still whining about the almost 50 million. Her daughter will get 70,000 pounds (?) a year, so Heather is saying while her father will fly in first class, the money she gets would put Beatrice in B-class, but obviously she would pay for her to be in first. Well duh, you got 50 million

Dayum she should just quit her whining. 23.7 GPB for a couple years "duty"?!!! That is so much better than what she could have done with her modeling or social services work or whatever the heck ever it is she did or does. And Beatrice will be fine. She will one day be one of the heirs to McCartney's billions.

I personally think she's been completely demonized by the press - everyone loves Paul Macartney (understandably), and everyone loves to hate a golddigger. I think, this being a divorce, it really is just between them and I feel sort of wrong having an opinion and taking sides with either of them? None of us know what went on in that marriage and none of us really know if she deserves that money or not. Admittedly she hasn't done herself ANY favours by being so frank to the press, but still - I don't really think any of us can judge either of them
And I really, really hate the tasteless remarks that are made about her prosthetic leg. They just aren't relevant to her persona or whatever at all.

...having said all that, I wouldn't say no to £24.3 million

We can only guess what really went on with their marriage and it's their own business but the reality is that their lives are partially made public and details of the court ruling were made public. The ruling seems to support what most people would like to, or do think of Mills. Here is some of what the judge said -

Mills gave 'inaccurate' evidence

- "The judge described Ms Mills in his ruling as having "a strong-willed and determined personality", and said she was also a "kindly person and devoted to her charitable causes"...."She has conducted her own case before me with a steely, yet courteous, determination," he stated.

- Sir Paul's evidence was described as "balanced". "He expressed himself moderately though at times with justifiable irritation, if not anger. He was consistent, accurate and honest," Mr Justice Bennett said.

- The judge wrote that he gave Ms Mills "every allowance for the enormous strain she must have been under". But he added: "I am driven to the conclusion that much of her evidence, both written and oral, was not just inconsistent and inaccurate but also less than candid". "Overall she was a less than impressive witness," he said.

- "I have to say I cannot accept the wife's case that she was wealthy and independent by the time she met the husband in the middle of 1999," said Mr Justice Bennett.

- And her claim to have had "very significant earnings as set out in her affidavit" were not supported by her tax returns, the ruling said.

- The judge added that her tax returns "disclose no charitable giving at all", despite Mills saying she gave "as much as 80% or 90% of her earnings ... direct to charities".

Interesting.

The judge's assessment seems to jibe with what I've read about her in the past, except the things I've read weren't phrased so mildly. Former friends, neighbours, her ex-fiance, and even family have come forward with stories of lies she's told. There were some whoppers. Not of the white lie variety either, it sounds like she's more of the pathological liar type.

Mills is also a real class act:

Mills soaked McCartney's lawyer

Heather Mills poured a jug of water over the head of Sir Paul McCartney's lawyer Fiona Shackleton at the end of their divorce case, she has admitted.

Ms Shackleton was seen leaving the High Court in London with wet hair after the hearing on Monday.

Ms Mills told the BBC she approached Ms Shackleton and said: "I'm not a loser."

She then "poured the whole jug of water on her head", she said. "I was very calm," she added. Ms Mills was awarded £24.3m from Sir Paul in the divorce.

Outside court on Monday, Ms Mills had criticised Ms Shackleton's handling of the case.

Whenever I think of Heather Mills, I think of her ridiculous appearance on Larry King Live with Mr. Danny Williams, the Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador. She was militantly against the seal hunt (not to mention extremely misinformed) and completely disrespected the Premier.

I do not have one iota of sympathy for that woman. If I were Paul, I wouldn't have given her one bloody cent.
