So many countries / people will be celebrating in July I figured we could show off the places we live at. This way if I never visit Iceland (AM!) I can at least see it from someone who lives there! :D

I live in Mass- where we have SO much, Cape Cod, Boston, Walden Pond, mountains in the west, Martha's Vineyard...

this is paul bunyan...fabled to have made all the lakes with his feet. this one is in brainerd and your parents tell the people that work there your name then he says "hello there shannon!" and it scares you.

MNBRAbunyan.jpg

this is duluth. it's rather hilly and cold. it's up north on lake superior. (ok, people, feel free to mock me for saying up north)

The giant acorn thingy that supposedly talks to you and tells you the story of the mica spring if you stand under it at midnight (that's what jkayet told me when I moved to Silver Spring):

And I'm a colonel too (twice)! :D

Twin Cities

O.K. - here is a map:

mapimage

I live near that star. So does SpiralStaircase. Sulawesigirl4 lives north of there in Roseville. Lemon Meringue does not live too far from Sula (but the town is not shown). Ali Rose lives just outside of this map to the Northwest. Lilly lives south of the star near (oddly enogh) Lilydale. Kira also lives somewhere on this map - but I forget where. We are one big happy Interference family here in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis/St. Paul.

hey dere, you grew up in the wild juuuungle donchya know. so i do belieeeeve that youu and zoney dere can't uhh ya know beat my accent. perhaps on the boat on the laaaaake with a beeeer up nort...but otherwise, i just don't know, ya know?

note: i seriously have a terrible accent. as any of the twin citians (and kristie) can justify.

This is where I spent the first nineteen years of my life......heaven on earth imho.
As side note...Russell Crowe has just directed some film clips for his girlfriend Danielle Spencer (she's THE one Russ) For one of the songs he has ballerinas dancing on "MY" headland. It may end up on Entertainment Tonight or something if they are still interested in Big Russ" love life.

Anyway, that was my slice of heaven...22 years later and I am still homesick....some days.
