Ok, so my roommates and I are having a halloween party and we need song suggestions...one of my roommates has all of the typical halloween type songs, but I'm looking for more interesting ideas (ie bjork - hunter; sarah mclachlan - black; echo and the bunnymen - the killing moon). I'd appreciate thoughts! :)

I made this mix for last Halloween:

1. Them Bones: Alice in Chains
2. Atack of the Ghost Riders: The Raveonettes
3. Halloween theme
4. Jennifer's Body: Hole
5. Dead Souls: Joy Division
6. Hell Hole: Spinal Tap
7. I Put a Spell on You: Marilyn Manson
8. I Think I'm Paranoid: Garbage
9. Music from Friday the 13th
10. Red Right Hand: Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds
11. I Don't Wanna Go Down to the Basement: The Ramones
12. Season of the Witch: Donovan
13. Werewolves of London: Warren Zevon
14. Don't Fear the Reaper: Blue Oyster Cult
15. Music from Pyscho
16. We Suck Young Blood: Radiohead
17. Dead Skin Mask: Slayer
18. Monster Mash
19. Mad World: Tears for Fears
20. Thriller: Michael Jackson

the misfits--halloween II
AFI--this celluloid dream

----------

:hmm: should have played the meteors' 'king vlad' or 'the hills have eyes'.

AFI's All Hallow's EP is a good choice. Most of their music is in some way or another, and I mean that in a good way. Playing them three times on the radio show also gets a

Some others:

Concrete Blonde - Ghost of a Texas Ladies' Man
Dave Matthews Band - Halloween
Tricky - Pumpkin

Some Creed might be really scary...

Neither Sun, Nor Moon, Nor Electricity
Darkness and Gardens of Steel
Dress Circle Seats For Creation

All three are really very creepy instrumentals by Steve and Russell Kilbey (on the cd Gilt Trip). They always sound like Halloween to me.

Ministry's Everyday is Halloween

THIS is an essential one.

There are a few Love and Rockets songs that might be good, as well as ANYTHING that came out of the Bauhaus group (Peter Murphy, Love and Rockets, Tones on Tail, etc.). Throw in some Cure songs for good measure...as well as some Interpol and Radiohead's Mix-a-ma-toes-is!

Then send me an invite! :D

Black Sabbath- Black Sabbath

:hyper:

Iron Maiden - Bring Your Daughter To The Slaughter
Iron Maiden - The Number Of The Best

AC/DC - Hells Bells

Metallica - The Thing That Should Not Be
Metallica - Enter Sandman (that's a classic one for Halloween)

Any Mercyful Fate song!

:)

AFI's Halloween is an awesome song and any other AFI songs that people have mentioned. Miseria Cantare is a real good choice

Statement agreed with.

Though The Misfit's original verion of 'Halloween' (and 'Halloween 2') are probably better.

I have a million of songs for this thread, as for now:

AFI - 'Fall Children'
The Cure - 'A Forest'
Son of Sam - 'Invocation'
Bauhaus - 'Hollow Hills'
Tiger Army - 'Incorporeal'
Alkaline Trio - 'All on Black'

Blood Roses - Tori Amos

Via Chicago - Wilco
just for the opening lyric:
I dreamed about killing you again last night
And it felt alright to me
Dying on the banks of Embarcadero skies
I sat and watched you bleed
Buried you alive in a fireworks display
Raining down on me
Your cold, hot blood ran away from me
To the sea

If it isn't too late..

Dj Food - The Crow
Amon Tobin - Sordid
Nick Cave - Papa won't Leave You Henry, Jack the Ripper, Stagger Lee
Tricky - Bury the Evidence
RJD2 - The Horror
Aim - Demonique
