Ordinary People makes wonderful use of Pachebel's "Canon"

We did the play last spring, I played Cal, and it was playing through my head the whole time.

. For god's sake not every trip to London in any movie deserves "London Calling". It'd be nice if for once someone listened to lyrics of a song before a nutjob decides to use it in the soundtrack.

C'mon guys.

Lost in Translation seems like the script was written around the soundtrack. Transcendent ambient music coinciding with breathtaking footage of Tokyo... My Bloody Valentine... what else could you want? This music transports, as does the film.

As awful as I think the film is, the score (not the soundtrack) to Romeo + Juliet fits it perfect, especially the Balcony Scene piece.
