Not a fan of rock instrumentals.

Quadrophenia and The Rock by The Who are pretty cool though.

Excellent choices! I would add Marooned by Pink Floyd, and Sweet July by Richard Wright, the latter off of his little known but brilliant album Broken China.

Bron-Y-Aur by Led Zeppelin.

My apologies for the double-post. If you like Bron-Yr-Aur, you should really check out John Paul Jones's two solo albums, which contain several instrumental gems.

treefingers is my personal favorite though

Do Make Say Think - "Auberge Le Mouton Noir"

Mogwai - "Kids Will Be Skeletons"

Explosions In The Sky - "First Breath After Coma"

or anything else by those three bands.

The Flaming Lips - "The Wizard Turns On" and "Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots Pt. 2"

Amiina - "Fjarskanistan"

Also, good chunks of Broken Social Scene's "Feel Good Lost" record.

That one's awful. But what about that untitled instrumental from the UF sessions?

Anyway, some of my favourites:

The Alan Parsons Project - Genesis Ch.1: V.32
The Alan Parsons Project - In The Lap Of The Gods (some innocuous singing at the end, but it's akin to PF's Atom Heart Mother so it doesn't really count.)

Joy Division - Incubation

Led Zeppelin - Bron-Yr-Aur

Nick Drake - Horn

Passengers - United Colours

Pink Floyd - A Saucerful Of Secrets
Pink Floyd - Atom Heart Mother
Pink Floyd - On The Run
Pink Floyd - The Last Few Bricks
Pink Floyd - One Of These Days

The Police - Regatta de Blanc

Pure Reason Revolution - Aeropause

Queen - God Save The Queen

Cluster One by Pnk Floyd
The Waiting Room by Genesis
Shambelle by The Police
A Treatise On Cosmic Fire by Todd Rundgren
Mr. Triscuit by Utopia
Questions? Answers! Answers? Questions! by Focus
Hocus Pocus by Focus
Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness by Smashing Pumpkins

Oh yeah, how could I forget, the second half of Bowie's Low is just fucking golden.
