I noticed that U2 got two nominations - one with Green Day and one with Mary J. Blige.

This year's nominees are horrible. Of course, they usually are, but this year comes across as particularly weak.

Those Album of the Year nominees are disgusting. The only one worth talking about is Stadium Arcadium. :down::down:

Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals
(For a collaborative performance, with vocals, by artists who do not normally perform together. Singles or Tracks only.)

One
Mary J. Blige & U2
Track from: The Breakthrough
[Geffen/Matriarch Records]

now that's certainly gonna piss some people off

I can't wait for all the locked threads. I can see them all now. :drool: :drool:

James Blunt? You have got to be fucking kidding me.

Kudos to the RHCP, though. They deserved some recognition for Stadium Arcadium.

Corrine Bailey Rae's album is kind of soulful, kind of mellow, very pleasant. I don't think it's all that great, but there you go.

And I bought St. Elsewhere based on the strength of the many rave reviews I read, and the awesomeness of "Crazy," and I thought it wasn't very good at all, other than two or three songs.

The video for "Gone Daddy Gone" is awesome, though.

Best Alternative Music Album
(Vocal or Instrumental.)

* Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not
Arctic Monkeys
[Domino Recording]

* At War With The Mystics
The Flaming Lips
[Warner Bros.]

* St. Elsewhere
Gnarls Barkley
[Downtown/Atlantic]

* Show Your Bones
Yeah Yeah Yeahs
[Interscope Records]

* The Eraser
Thom Yorke
[XL Recordings]

Four very good albums there, one overhyped piece of shit.

If Flips or Thom win, then times will be good.

It's also really funny to me to see Imogen Heap nominated for Best New Artist since she's been around for quite awhile. Regardless, I hope she wins. I saw her two weeks ago and it was a really good show. She's excellent.

Oh, okay, thanks.

I'll check the website before I have anymore questions/complaints.

Hey now!

Wow, this has to be the worst nominations I've seen, and that's saying a lot considering the absence of quality in previous years. Record Of The Year is hysterical, and how the FUCK did Timberlake get nominated for Album Of The Year? :lmao:

Keane is up for one too!! woot!:happy:

KEANE NOMINATED FOR GRAMMYS!
07.12.06 | 07.23.pm
'Is It Any Wonder?' up for Grammy Award

We're very pleased to announce that Keane have been nominated for an award at this year's Grammys. 'Is It Any Wonder?' is up for Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal (or BPPBADOGWV for short).

The awards, which will take place in Los Angeles at the Staples Center on Sunday, Februry 11, 2007.

Hm...

That Natasha Bedingfield song in the pop category is two years old.

Nice to see Goldfrapp, Zero 7 and Pet Shop Boys get nods in the dance category.

But otherwise the Grammys have always been rubbish affairs.

And I wouldn't say that that Thom Yorke album was all that overhyped either.

By making a quality album.

And no, you are not allowed to refute that based on the fact that you hate the entire genre to begin with.

I hope U2 loses both the nominations.

You're kidding, right? I remember when I had the misfortune to catch Timberlake's lead single on the radio: I just burst out laughing at how horrific it was. His singing's bloody dreadful. I can't believe he's successful. :huh:
