The Grammys aren't very worthwhile to me -- so many of their choices make me want to throw up. I get so much more value out of reading the best of lists that folks here come up with. Y'all have much better taste. <wink>

is it written into the grammy constitution somewhere that if u2 releases something in a given year they need to be nominated for at least one grammy?

i mean i like the recording and all... but instant karma for best rock performance? really? come on

I know I am not cool enough to understand the Grammy's, but this list, if we can call it that, is frightful.

A few honest winners amid a pack of losers, by and large, but some things just don't make any sense at all.

Like, how do you decide that Sky Blue Sky is rock while Icky Thump is alternative. I mean, come on.

Then, as much as I love Maynard and the fabulous song chosen, how does a release from May 06 even contend?

I even think it's cheating to consider all those holiday releases from 06, but I know that is part of the U2 always wins a Grammy clause in the constitution referred to by another poster.

Please, pretty please, go vote for the real best albums of the year in the only thread that matters, the sticky that your humble editors and mods have created for you at the top of this forum.

later alligators~~~!

I'm going have to go with Falling Slowly over the Vedder song in that one.

Ah, but if that were the case, they wouldn't have given the Dixie Chicks such an ass-kissing last year.
