Anyone heard of Gomco? It's a one-man group comprised of a local (DC) guy named Greg Pearson. He's had two self-made CDs that have garnered a little praise by some in the area, but I don't know if they've spread out of DC at all.
His sound is kind of an ambient, occasionally industrial guitar-synth sound. In different reviews online, he's been compared to Jesu, Air and others. 'Earthmovers' is the first album under the name Gomco, and I prefer it a little more over the debut album 'A Thousand Years' (not under the name Gomco).
Anyway, here's the guy's myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/gomco
And a few others:

I'm curious to hear what others think. It'd be nice to not be the only person talking about a band..
