they like sell bars of it for hundreds of dollars!

no honestly i believe there is supposed to be some sort of sound advantage(obviously), whether or not there is i'm not sure.
i would imagine that in the end, if your speakers suck so is any sound that gets sent to them. so my guess is to really enjoy these you need a nice sound system.

i dunno anyone want to correct me?

I think because the company that made 'em went under. I read something like that off an old post a while back. They are better quality from what I've been told. Check Media Play, they tend to still have drifiting copies for retail price.
