I can't believe I'm about to go to bed only to wake up to the US with a neo-fascist as president. It's so fucking depressing, I want to believe that if I stay up it won't happen.

All this talk of trying to "understand" the awful, despicable people who voted for this lunatic, but frankly no, every single one of them can get fucked, they are at best fascist fellow travellers and at worst... I don't even want to contemplate it.

Fuck this all.

A better scenario than my last post, for sure.

I've always had a little bit of fantasy about getting some tits time in a changing room, but have yet to get the chance. You'd think it would be easier because it would be girl-on-girl and girls go into the changing room together all the time, but I don't know any likely girls.

Maybe I'm naive, or just hopeful, but I think he's waaaay more talk than action, and that he actually won't do much during his presidency, other than embarrass himself and embarrass the country. We have quite a system of checks and balances in place, and the president can't just do whatever he wants. The republicans do have a slight majority in the senate, but they have for years, and most of them don't like him anyway.

This election, and the presidency which shall ensue are clusterfucks of the greatest kind. The people that voted for Trump fall into three categories: 1. Racist/misogynists who share Mr. Trump's ideologies. 2. Uneducated people that voted for him because he's a celebrity. 3. People that really really hate Hillary Clinton.

I'll admit, I hate Hillary Clinton and didn't vote for her. But I didn't vote for Trump either. I voted third party. I was a Bernie supporter from day one. I identify as a socialist, not a democrat.

The democratic party dropped the ball by putting Clinton ahead. She's a criminal and quite hated especially by anyone with a military background (which is a large portion of our country). There is speculation that had Bernie been on the ticket in the general election, he could have easily beaten Trump, but Bernie is not really a democrat, and so the DNC tried to shove him into the background in favor of their golden child, Clinton. Mistake.

I want to believe in some optimistic interpretation that he will just be a loudmouth bigoted fuck-knuckle who does nothing but... I can't. I don't even want to go to sleep, in the silly belief that as long as I stay awake and keep drinking, he's not the president.

Instead it's a rerun of 1933 and nobody has stopped this.

I still don't quite see how Trump can be labeled a fascist/neo-fascist/whatever. He does not have a discernible ideology other than making shit up and running with it.

...which is pretty much what some of the original fascists did too.

He fits very well on the spectrum of 1930s European dictators.

While you were sleeping:

People across social media freaked out because it appeared that all mention of climate change, civil rights, and LGBT issues had been removed from the White House website.

No one thought to look into it very closely. With every change in administration, the entire site is cleared and archived to a new address (in this case from whitehouse.gov to obamawhitehouse.archives.gov), just like the physical building is vacated by the former first family, the website is purged too. Had anyone looked closely at it before jumping to conclusions, they would have noticed that the current new White House website is almost empty. The pages for defense, the supreme court, and social security are also currently 404s.

That's the main rant I have for today.

Ha.

Though part of me expects the new climate change page, whenever it comes online, to be little more than "LOL CHINEZE HOAXXX".

Most hilarious moment of the inauguration:

She's in the cabinet apparently, but she looks like she should be at the Hotdog on a Stick

Who is that try-hard patriot clown?

And oh god am I going to have this existential dread hanging over me for the entire next four years?

Well, I've seen bigger hidings in cricket, but our result was rather comprehensive. I should not be nursing a beer at home at 5pm, we weren't scheduled to finish until 7.

Our batting effort was really good, however I was a close in fielder and touched the ball twice. Once when I stopped a certain boundary quite by accident with my ankle. It removed me from the bowling attack without a ball bowled. Which realistically was a blessing for my averages.

.
I don't know how I got offered to go in unless the sales girl wanted to live vicariously through either myself or the lady friend. The sign was exceptionally specific about one person only per changing room and given it was a freaking bra store, no guy should have been down there.

(Let us ignore the LGBTQ situation, we all know what I mean by no guy)

Since when were you playing cricket, Ian?

I went to see PJ Harvey in concert a few nights ago. Funnily enough, perhaps embarrassingly, that was my first proper gig.

Was a fantastic show too.

I'm kinda pissed at my batting partner. I had to go the big dive after he called a run then sent me back, then got himself stumped on the next ball.

Thanks buddy, I ripped my shirt, bruised the shit out of my thigh and didn't face a ball. Also diving without any protection on your arms and no helmet is just unpleasant at the best of times, especially on a very sandy ground.
