I second this.

Isn't it a pity
Now, isn't it a shame
How we break each other's hearts
And cause each other pain
How we take each other's love
Without thinking anymore
Forgetting to give back
Isn't it a pity

isnt it a pity is a wonderful song.

Let it roll across the floor
Through the hall and out the door
To the fountain of perpetual mirth
Let it roll for all it's worth

Find me where ye echo lays
Lose ye bodies in the maze
See the lord and all the mouths he feeds
Let it roll among the weeds
Let it roll

Let it roll down through the caves
Ye long walks of Coole and Shades
Through ye woode, here may ye rest awhile
Handkerchiefs to match your tie
Let it roll

Fools illusions everywhere
Joan and Molly sweep the stairs
Eyes that shining full of inner light
Let it roll into the night

What Is Life sounds like it could have been on Rubber Soul...and it would have been just as awesome.

Apple Scruffs

This was the first song I heard from this album and I knew it was going to be love.

Now I've watched you sitting there
Seen the passers-by all stare
Like you have no place to go
But there's so much they don't know about Apple Scruffs

You've been stood around for years
Seen my smiles and touched my tears
How it's been a long, long time
And how you've been on my mind, my Apple Scruffs

Apple Scruffs, Apple Scruffs
How I love you, how I love you

In the fog and in the rain
Through the pleasures and the pain
On the step outside you stand
With your flowers in your hand, my Apple Scruffs

While the years they come and go
Now, your love must surely show me
That beyond all time and space
We're together face to face, my Apple Scruffs

Apple Scruffs, Apple Scruffs
How I love you, how I love you

Anytime an artist/band writes a song directly for their fans is such a great feeling. What a way to give back.

i believe many of these songs are songs that harrison wrote during the beatles years, but lennon/mccartney/martin wouldnt allow them on the albums for some reason. what a treasure george had collected

Yep. I have his autobiography and he goes through some select songs and when and where he wrote them.

Quote:
What Is Life
What Is Life was written for Billy Preston in 1969. I wrote it very quickly, fifteen minutes or half an hour maybe.

I'd Have You Anytime
I'd Have You Anytime was started in America, in Woodstock-I was invited there by The Band.
Bob Dylan wrote the bridge.

Wah Wah
Wah Wah was written during the Let It Be fiasco. (summarizing) - It was about Paul as well as the footpedal when the camera was filming an argument between them.
It was written during the time in the film where John and Yoko were freaking out screaming-I'd left the band, gone home-and wrote this tune.

Behind That Locked Door
Was written when Bob Dylan was playing at the Isle of Wight soon after his Nashville Skyline album. I wrote this song about him.
Just a few. He doesn't talk about every song, just the ones he still has the original lyrics written on paper for.

I need to pick this up. "My Sweet Lord" is so amazing, despite that it's really "He's So Fine" in more serious clothing.

i think you're right, that's why it's a triple album. (CD-wise it's a double album, but still.)

This is the best solo Beatle album compared to their best:

1. All Things Must Pass
2. Band on the Run
3. Plastic Ono Band
4. Ringo

Not a matter of looking; it's on my wish list and I'll get around to buying it eventually. I have actually heard the whole thing, though.
