first off, share a mixed tape you have made recently

next of all,
I had a good idea from the Elliott Smith message board

we should trade mixed tapes!

i.e

I'm very very interesting in hearing some of these bands you guys talk about

Idlewild, lambchop, extreme, Mojave 3, Clinic, Future Sounds of London...
etc...ad infinitum

I can offer many things as well...

fellow canadians
Rufus Wainwright
Rheostatics
Leonard Cohen
Sarah Slean
Godspeed
New Pornographers

also,
Nick Drake
Portishead
Radiohead
Trail of Dead
Dandy Warholes
Yo La Tengo
Velvet Underground
CSNY
Jeremy Enigk
Hayden
Kent
Low
Pedro the Lion
Stavesacre

I can only make tapes as I do not have a burner...but mixed tapes are the classic way of doing things!!

I read about this in a magazine. Someone burns a cd, then gives it to 3 people, who then give 3 other people burned cds, etc. or something like that. Very cool idea, I actually thought about posting this very thing.

:)

PS- Mixed tapes,
PPS - A guy who knows how to make an excellent mixed tape has my heart forever

Even though I have a cd burner I still make mix tapes!

P.S. It's always good to encounter another CSNY fan!!

I suck at organizing
but I guess people would just post what they want to offer and others can determine who they would like to have a mixed tape from
and they would trade

I dunno

like I said, I suck

maybe there's a better way!

we need some smart folk up in here

*raises hand

I's be smart. :der:

Ok, I guess what we can do is get a list going. Whoever posts first sends a compilation to 3 people, who then make a mix of their own and send it to the next three, and so on. Does that make sense? I guess when I get home I can grab that magazine and get what we're really supposed to do here, lol.

Anyone ever hear of bootleg "vines"? They do them on the Bruce board I'm on, and that works kind of the same way.

It's early, so I dunno.

Hello,

I recently made a mix tape (or rather: mix CD) again for a good friend as a Christmas present. It had been a while and I forgot how much fun it was (and how much time it costs to get the most suitable tracks in the correct order). This CD (2 CD's actually) consisted of one track of each album I'd bought in 2002. It was also a good reminder how much music I still buy. Yeah, (good) mix tapes are cool.

Lemme see if I can make some time for it...

C ya!

Mix tapes are soooo 10 years ago.

:sexywink:

I've been told by friends that I'm an excellent mix-maker. CDs, of course. :D The only tape machine we have in the house is on the radio in one of the bathrooms, hardly good quality either.

I'm a little confused. Is our name on the list simply by responding to this thread or is there another list somewhere?

being an ex deejay, i should be able to do a good tape. but i just signed up for the cd exchange thingie up there.

thats fine by me. this idea is huge! then you don?t have to do a fucking file sharing service! i will copy and paste your message on the thread up there, daisybean.

It's a cool idea, although, for me, I don't have a tape player. I would need someone with a CD burner.

Melon

My tape player works fine, but the CD player in it is messed up, so I'd have to make CDs, but I can get tapes. If that makes sense.

You mean you want to burn CDs, but recieve tapes so you can actually play them?

Can we drop this idea, please? I'm already having sleepless nights, thinking what songs I should include on my CD! I only have 80 minutes and that is not enough!
Can't we maybe have a theme or so?

Hey! That sounds like a good suggestion for next Exchanges, having a theme. This one may still be your favourite songs in general, but then you can have themed CD's. Anybody also in favour for this?

C ya!

Marty (who had a bright thought on a Monday morning!)

Anyone who needs to add their name to the list, please post in the other thread and then contact me via PM or email. If I do not have your info I cannot give it to someone else to send your cds.

Marty, that's a great idea for the next one! It's cool that even though we haven't even really "begun" this one, there's already talk of another exchange.
