Well I finally got a new camera, a Canon. So I took a couple of close ups of the cats. I still need to mess around with it. There are entirely too many settings

Ugh. There's something wrong with Chloe again.

She's using her litterbox just fine, but in the last two days she's started digging at her rear and her muscles are spasming again. When this happens she does not act like herself, she runs around like she's paranoid, and when you try to pet her she'll bite and hiss. We'll take her back to the vet hopefully tomorrow and demand a head to toe checkup, especially since a week from wednesday we'll be at the beach for a week, and we dont want to leave her behind knowing something is wrong but not knowing what.

Have they done a full blood panel, urinalysis etc? She may need an ultrasound too. I would just do everything and get it done with so you can get to the bottom of the problem.

What GORGEOUS photos Sicy :)
I especially love that very first one of Zoey - the look on her face is just beautiful!!

Have lots of fun with your new camera - if you're anything like me the cats will be sick to death of having their photos taken:huh:

That's what we hope to do. Just a few minutes ago she jumped up on the couch in the living room...which she NEVER gets on...and proceeded to dig like crazy on the couch, running from one end to the other acting like she needed to dig a hole or something. It was REALLY weird, something is definitely wrong.

Oooookaaaay, so last night before going to be my mom covered the couch and the loveseat in the sunroom with newspaper, because that's where Chloe usually goes to the bathroom when she's acting weird.

This morning at 6 she came into my room trying to cough up a hairball, but the hairball itself never did come out. So I went downstairs, and sure enough she had left a fresh load on the newspaper. She then came downstairs and was looking for something to gag herself with to cough up the hairball.

Something is obviously still wrong with her digestive system or something, even though we've been giving her Laxatone every day (which had been working, she had been just fine until Saturday).

We should be taking her in to the vet today...which we hate doing because it really is a traumatic experience for her.

OK we just got back from the vet.

As expected, her anal glands were impacted again, and she has dingleberries that are irritating her. The vet said her obesity is the "root of all evils" and we're putting her on special diet food that we buy from the vet rather than the Iams "diet" stuff.

Hopefully her losing weight will mean she won't have impacted anal glands anymore, she'll be able to clean her rear, but until then we have to use baby wipes to help her clean her bottom...:uhoh: That's going to be an adventure.

at least you have answers.. and that it isn't any worse (the diagnosis that is). Strict diet now for chloe....

ohh. and have fun wiping her butt with those wipes.. :giggle: :yikes: Just like taking care of a baby.. :reject:

I hope everything works out with Chloe.

I have amazingly awesome kitty news! My best friend's cat Margie went missing 10 months ago, and she's been found!!!

Kitty porn :tsk:

so :cute:

Hope Chloe is feeling better soon  Hubby buys Otto's cat food from the vet too I believe. He's either a big fat cat or overweight, but we still love him :) I got to see Otto's mom and sister last week when Maddy went to visit her friend. They are about half the size! Well mama might be 2/3rs, but still, nothing compared to Otto!

Oh and hardyharhar picked up the Advantage stuff from the vet last week. I hope it's working. He's the one that checks Otto for fleas and cleans up after him.

Wow Wayne, he's so big already!
And look at those dingleberries :giggle:
I hope you'll be getting him neutered soon.
That may actually help with his 'potty problem'.

Lila glad to hear you've got advantage on Otto now.
It should kill all the fleas within 24 hours.
Gotta keep applying it though once a month :)

If he bought it at the vets I'm sure they explained everything to him.

It's weird, not having them around all the time. When they were kittens, I took them along, but now they would HATE it there and just freak out the whole time (the two dogs...need I say more?). Beckham especially is getting old and grumpy even though he's only 3.
