Thanks for these. I'm wondering if Jack might have feline herpes since he gets pink eye so frequently. The first link had plenty of pictures

Thanks, BonoIsMyMuse, & hope Jack is okay soon, & thanks Kellyahern, & Liesje also, another morning of hissing from Henry, but Eric just seems oblivious to it, so, as you say, its probably just the smell of the vet on him, & Henry will come round in a day or 2 now.
Really can't believe how well Eric is doing despite all his injuries, jumping up on the furniture, rolling over to have his tummy tickled, its incredible to think just 5 days ago what happened, & to see how he is now, he really is a fighter.

Oh my jimmmm, poor Eric! But also lucky Eric. I'm so happy he's doing so well now. I'm sure that once he is more healed that Henry will begin to treat him normally again. Cats are so amazing -- I know I wouldn't be doing that well if I had those kinds of injuries!

BonoIsMyMuse -- best wishes for Jack too. Sending good eye vibes his way.

Max's toe is doing well now -- he essentially had an ingrown toenail that was infected. Made me feel silly for not being able to take care of it myself, but all I could see was a big blob and had no idea where to trim. Anyway he got some antibiotics for the infection and a very happy cat.

Thanks everybody for good thoughts about Jack

It turns out he has the feline herpes virus, which isn't a big deal but explains why he seems to easily get pink eye and is often very sneezy. This is a virus that many cats are born with or can catch when they're at shelters, and while there's no cure, the best way to keep flare-ups to a minimum is to keep up with the booster shot for it.

He had a fever yesterday, but the vet gave him eye drops and a powdered medicine that I mix in with wet food, and he seems to be feeling better today. First thing this morning he was attacking his catnip lemon!

Getting neutered is exhausting! Spunky Butt snoozing post fixing vet visit.

Oscar (doing his killer cat impression) & Alex

This box, which is on top of a pie safe, is a big favourite place for just about all the cats. It seems as if most of my photos of the cats are taken there. They are going to be so disappointed when I get rid of that box! (it's a shrink wrapping system and I'm going to sell it soon)

My neighbors kitten was not even phased hehe.

Eric has to go back to the vet next Friday, to have his stitches out, & then the vet will assess if his eye has to be removed or not, fingers & toes crossed it will be OK, Henry is getting more hostile with Eric, just this morning Eric went to approach Henry, & straight away Henry started spitting, hissing, & growling, not very friendly at all, I'm beginning to wonder if he's going to accept him or not, the vet said it would be ok in a couple of days, & Eric has been back 5 days now, still, the main thing is Eric gets better.

I think they'll be OK once he is healed. Feral cats often like to scavenge in packs or colonies. Weaker cats will attract larger predators. Perhaps he knows Eric is sick b/c he smells way different (even his wounds, not just the vet smell) and doesn't want him around. It could just be instinct.
