Good afternoon/evening/morning people.

I want to make a great Foo Fighters mix cd/best of kind of thing. I have a few idea's, but I wouldn't mind some help.

The main concept is that the cd is going to be a loud/loud/quiet thing. As in two heavy songs followed by a slower one and so on. First off...what do you think about that? Second, can you recomend some good combinations?

Sure it is. Awesome song.

I was thinking about opening the cd with "best of you", but I don't like using an actual opening track from a cd. I think I'm out of luck with this song...it just fits so well as an opener.

Walking after you is going to be on there for sure. It's one of my favs. However, I'm going to use the version on the x-files movie soundtrack.

Acoustic Everlong or Times Like These. Preferably the latter. Also, Hey Jonny Park! Is a great great great album track if you want to avoid doing all singles.

Unless my copy's weird, In Your Honor opens with "In Your Honor," not "Best of You." "Best of You" was just the lead single (and the first track on that, I guess).

This is a Call and I'll Stick Around are two good rocking ones

For softer I would go with Aurora or Headwires

For a rarity, I always liked their cover of Ace Frehley's Ozone.

I like Baker Street for the rarities (havent listened in a while)

The Blackbird Cover was pretty good too

And Touch (which is an original) is a poppy little number

Woops...got them mixed up. I'm an idiot.

Thanks for the help guys. I'll post my track list later.

Aurora and Hey Johnny Park! are favs of mine...

I second the nomination of their Baker Street cover...really cool IMO...

For the "slower" stuff, there's this really cool version of "Ain't it the Life" from something called the "Two-Meter Sessions"...the song is originally from their "...Nothing Left to Lose" CD, but this version is something of a full-band acoustic. Even the album version is a great song.

Just wanted to let you folks know I'm seeding two new Foos recordings at Dimeadozen....

With Arms Wide Open, lol.

I used to have that mp3 somewhere. I think on my old computer, but wherever it is, it was hilarious.

Ha, ha! Yes it was!!

Also the Eddie Money song was pretty cute too
