so...as far as I can figure, downloading music was deemed legal by the supreme court if Canada

well...not really legal...but nobody is allowed to collect the names of people who are filesharing. So...I guess it's all but legal

which is good
 
Now they'll star "Copy Controlling" cd's so they won't play on your computer, thus preventing files from ever being created.

and my friend put the songs on his computer no problem at all
 
It does prevent me from buying CD's with Copy Control though. I was kinda interested in that album by Joss Stone (and the new Spearhead one). But once I saw the Copy Control mark, I decided not to buy them. Maybe I find copies without it, or else I'll look online...
