The first half is amazing. NLOTH 1 is the Fast Cars to NLOTH 2's Xanax and Wine, Magnificent lives up to its title. Moment Of Surrender sounds like something out of a movie. Unknown caller is weird, but good. Boots and Stand Up Comedy bring the funk and energise the album, Fez is trippy as all fuck, and then the Trifecta of Win (White As Snow, Breathe, Cedars Of Lebanon) bring us home. I just wish it didn't have to end.

Right now, after my second listen I give it an 8/10.

Just about! It took me a while to figure out that my alarm was actually going and it wasn't just some weird noise in a dream.

(This is actually an improvement on lately, when I've been accidentally turning my alarm off in my sleep! I have a fucking obnoxious alarm positioned in a difficult way, yet after two years of living in this place, I seem to have finally worked out how to turn it off without waking up.)

i used to turn my alarm off all the time. even from obscure places like inside a drawer, i'd wake up late and think i'd slept through it but it would turn out i'd turned it off and it'd be somewhere like under my bed.

This. It's got to be one of the band's most consistent, cohesive efforts. Seems they definitely didn't want a repeat of HTDAAB's collection-of-songs-but-not-an-album vibe.
