FBI's List Of Terrorist Suspects Includes Fan Of 'Demonic Heavy Metal Music'

The latest addition to the FBI list of seven terrorist suspects being sought because of their ties to al-Qaida is Adam Yahiye Gadahn, a U.S. citizen from Southern California who wrote in a web posting that he was obsessed for a time with "demonic heavy metal music" before moving to Orange County and discovering the Islamic faith. After converting to Islam, he attended an al-Qaida training camp and is known to have performed translations for the group.

The FBI issued "Be On The Lookout" alerts on Wednesday, asking the public and local law enforcement for help finding seven people ? including Gadahn ? with ties to al-Qaida. It's not known whether the people are believed to be involved in a terror plot or whether they're in the United States.

Amen to that. Some people are just ignorant and prejudice about heavy metal and some other people give the genre a bad name because they're crazy.

I found it funny in the movie Elephant (which basically recreates Columbine) that the kid who goes on the rampage in his school actually plays Beethoven.

Its funny that the real columbine guys too actually did NOT like Marilyn Manson and yet he got all the fingers pointed at him for some reason.

His aunt gave an interview yesterday and when she was asked several times why he converted to Islam, all she kept going on and on about was the fact that he "finally stopped listing to that junk, that lousy heavy metal music" It was a little bizarre that she kept focusing on that. Her nephew is suspected of al Quaida connections yet the thing she wanted people to know about him was that he stopped listening to that "horrible music."

How weird. She probably has utmost faith in the belief he has no connections to it but isn't thinking too clearly. It would be so hard to learn someone you love could be capable of such things.
