I love Risk. Cranium is also great. I played that for the first time when my family took a 10 day vacation to Key West....how I miss those days

Cranium
Catchphrase (isn't a board game, per se, but fun none the less...great for larger groups, i.e. 6 or more people)

There's also a great little game called (and I'm NOT making this up!!) "Pass the Pigs". It's made by Milton Bradley & can usually be found at ToysRUs or Wal-Mart/Target. It's a kind of dice game using two little rubber pigs. You score based on how the pigs land and play to 100, so the game moves along pretty quickly. Plus, it comes with a little travel case which makes it easy to carry with you anywhere.

We also love to play a dice game called "Farkle" - and I didn't make THAT one up, either! You use 6 regular dice (one more than Yahtzee) & it's a great game, but the rules are too involved to get into here. If you're interested, though, I'll be more than happy to type 'em up & email them to you. Just PM me.

Cluedo is what the rest of the world besides the US (I'm pretty sure) calls Clue. It's the same game.

Sorry is a pretty good game.

Monopoly never gets old. You can even try the many editions like: LOTR, Powerpuff Girls, Star Wars, the Simpsons etc.

Operation is fun. There's even a new one out with Shrek.

Candyland is still great after all these years.

There are also new dvd/board games out that I heard are pretty good.

How could I have forgotten Pass The Pigs? That game is so cute.

the best party game? trivial pursuit.

trivial pursuit you say? yes... trivial pursuit. it may seem boring and nerdy... but answering some of those questions when you're half in the can makes for some very interesting responses... trust me.
