Favourite/best sports movie of all time?

I think this is the best place to post this, rather than in Zoo Station but move it if need be.

I'm sure this thread has been done before but I was curious about this with the Oscars being awarded tomorrow night.

For me, my all-time favourite sports fils is Field of Dreams. Nothing else even comes close to it.

Miracle was also one I liked a lot.

The Natural.

North Dallas Forty.
Breaking Away.
Chariots of Fire. (I love this movie to death, but few people I know like it, too. Eh.)

I like NSW's list - I've seen most of those, and including Field Of Dreams in there as well.

Chariots Of Fire is very good, but I have to be in the mood to watch it. Vangelis' score definitely helps. Then again we knew about him way before he got famous for the music to this movie.

Kidding. Hoosiers is good. Field of Dreams is up there and who can forget Major League.

But the BEST movie I have ever seen is "Michael Jordan to the Max" In the IMAX theater at some museum in Downtown Chicago. In IMAX, you can see that MJ pushed off Bryon Russell of the Utah Jazz to hit that game winner even more than you could see on regular TV!!! I cried during the movie...

Chariots Of Fire is excellent. And I love Vangelis, so yeah, it sure does enhance it that much more.

I'll go with Field Of Dreams and The Natural as well.

I assume most of the previous posters are american judging by the lists. I notice a couple of my fellow countrymen sticking up for quality.

Raging Bull is a fine fine film but is of course based on the reality of Rocky Marciano.

Escape to Victory is the fictional sports film of all time whereas Rollerball would be the future fiction sports fim of all time.

Mean Machine was dross as was the Burt Reynolds original.

Up and Under anybody? Just kidding although Samantha Janus looks well fit in it.
