i thought you were going to ask the top 10 cities people had been to that they liked...i was going to say shit i think i've been to a total of 3 cities, and two were major ones....oh wait, i went to montreal when i was little...

I dont really like cities, they just seem so cluttered, full of traffic and full on, but if you saw where I live, well you would understand- its just so nice and laid back here on the Sunshine Coast............ I've only been to 5 cities, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Los Angeles and San Francisco, but I guess that I would love to go to Dublin one day, just to go on a bit of a U2 pilgrimage:wink:

I was going to say, this thread sounded very familiar...

Don't worry, when I finally get to Australia, Melbourne is on the list. No point in going all that way and just going to one city eh.

Good question...but I gotta do two lists!

Ten that I've been to/lived in:

London (my top)
Dublin
Victoria (Canada)
Vancouver
Turku (Finland)
Paris
Copenhagen
Venice
Chicago
Galway

Ten that I want to/plan to visit:

Prague (going soon!)
New York (going soon!)
New Orleans
Cairo (probably more for what's nearby than the city itself)
Delhi (ditto)
Jerusalem
Rome
Sydney (going soon!)
Buenos Aires
Petra (actually is a modern city too, but mainly for the ancient stone city)

These could be somewhat subject to change--especially since I'll be visiting some soon--but they're good choices. London is my greatest city, so far. I wonder what could dethrone it?

Favorite cities I've been to:

San Francisco
Chicago
Philadelphia
Colorado Springs, CO
Minneapolis
Charleston,WV
Atlanta
Pittsburgh
Des Moines
Fargo
no order, and I could add more but I stopped at 10 like it said to

Now here's places around the world I'd love to see!!

Dublin
London
St. Petersburg
Moscow
Berlin
Vienna
Melbourne
Geneva
Amsterdam
Paris

I have been to both Melbourne and Sydney numerous times as I have family in both cities and I agree that Melbourne has a lot more to do culturally than Sydney, but better weather!!!!, surely you were being sarcastic intedomine, the main thing that has always kept me away from living in Melbourne is its appalling weather, but I guess if you like four seasons in one day then it is tops, but if you want to talk about great weather, city wise than look a little further north to good ol Bris-vegas and the little gem of civilisation just an hours drive north. Only yesterday I met a friend up at the Noosa surf club, we were sitting out on the deck of the surf club, drinking gin and tonics and watching the waves roll onto the shore of Noosa main beach and the many tourists and back packers lapping it all up, knowing that you have that all year round, is just amazing- I'm so biased about where I live:wink:

Who do so many people want to go to Amsterdam?

Then again, I might not see it because I live so near to it it all seems normal to me. (It does have many beautiful houses, interesting museums etc.)

C ya!

Ones I've been to....

1) Dublin
2) Washington (sorry I'm biased, both of my parents and much of my extended family/friends are from there)
3) Toronto
4) Quebec City
5) Philadelphia
6) Cleveland
7) Galway
8) Limerick

meh...can't think of anymore...
