That's true for me as well. Although it's not always been the case, now if I was to name my favorite 20 or 25 albums I doubt there would be a U2 cd in the bunch.

followed VERY closely by...
duran duran: rio

I don't know what my favorite album ever is, but it'd be between:
  • The Beatles' Revolver
  • The Kinks' Face To Face
  • The Doors' Strange Days
  • The Beatles' White Album
  • The Who's Tommy
  • Van Morrison's Moondance
  • Derek & The Dominos' Layla
  • George Harrison's All Things Must Pass
  • John Lennon's Plastic Ono Band
  • Pink Floyd's Meddle
  • Nick Drake's Pink Moon
  • Big Star's #1 Record
  • Led Zeppelin's Houses of the Holy
  • Bob Dylan's Blood On the Tracks
  • The Clash's London Calling
  • U2's The Unforgettable Fire
  • Tom Waits' Rain Dogs
  • Steve Earle's Guitar Town
  • U2's The Joshua Tree
  • Daniel Lanois' Acadie
  • The Pixies' Doolittle
  • R.E.M.'s Automatic for the People
  • Tom Waits' Bone Machine
  • Pearl Jam's Vs.
  • Jeff Buckley's Grace
  • Johnny Cash's American Recordings
  • Tom Petty's Wildflowers
  • Weezer's Blue Album
  • Radiohead's The Bends
  • Oasis' What's the Story (Morning Glory?)
  • Screaming Trees' Dust
  • Elliott Smith's Either/Or
  • The Verve's Urban Hymns
  • Elliott Smith's XO
  • Gillian Welch's Hell Among the Yearlings
  • Travis' The Man Who
  • Radiohead's Kid A
  • Spoon's Girls Can Tell
  • The Shins' Oh, Inverted World
  • Bruce Springsteen's The Rising
That's 40; I should add 10 more and attempt a personal top fifty.

Crowded House - Together Alone...

It has and always will be number one in my book.

Anyone who hasn't listened to this amazing piece of work should do so immediatly.

Tough but I'm going to have to go for Blur's 'Modern Life Is Rubbish', an absolute masterpiece.
