Between Youtube and artists' or labels' sites, it's finally easy to see new music videos again (as MTV certainly doesn't show them). I honestly think I've watched more music videos this year via the internet than I've seen in the last 3 years totaled.

I thought it would be enjoyable to list our favorite music videos from 2007 with links so others could watch if so inclined. Here are mine in no order, I'm sure I'll end up forgetting something:

Bat For Lashes - 'What's A Girl To Do'
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1wnOUH2jk8
Great song? Check. Cute girl? Check. Creepy furries? Check. BMX bikes? Check. Tim Burton meets Donnie Darko vibe? Check. Awesomeness? Enormous check. I love everything about this video.

The Shins - 'Australia'
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OHTSxw6zN1E
Incredibly fun video set to an incredibly catchy and fun song. Add some slight referencing to the great movie, Bottle Rocket, and you have a winner in my book.

Low - 'Breaker'
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rY8OUjxzBhs
Even as a long time Low fan, I was completely shocked when I first watched this. As their entire new album, 'Drums and Guns', has a lot of references to present world policies and situations, I think the video is extremely fitting. Even if you don't look at it as symbolic, it's still a pretty crazy idea for a video.

Beirut - 'Elephant Gun'
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kjeh6P4sRfw
I have no idea what's going on in this video, but the choreography and editing alone makes it worth watching.

M.I.A. - 'Boyz'
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZv-G7IISgs
A video that's almost as cool as she is.

Feist - 'My Moon My Man'
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zWrNCCx2p5U
I'm sure someone else will end up posting her most popular one from the year, which is admittedly probably the better video, but I prefer this one (better song and she looks more attractive here)

Spoon - 'The Underdog'
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q1hZVDLkJDc
It's pretty rare to see an original performance video. Great song as well.

Modest Mouse - 'Dashboard'
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1QqQ5KaNBU
Entertaing song, even more entertaining video.

Kanye West - 'Can't Tell Me Nothin''
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PpwgYsYWwdc
I bought the album purely off of this video (and the 50 Cent fued...). Comedian Zach Galifianakis was given the reigns by Kanye to make a video for him, this is what he made. Zach brought in the Bonnie Prince, Will Oldham, and gave it a very unique spin for the subject matter. Hilarity ensues. Kanye is a huge douche for not using this as the official video, this is the best hip hop video in years.

Battles - 'Atlas'
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IpGp-22t0lU
You'll either absolutely love or absolutely hate this song, but there's no denying that the video is amazing to watch. Beautiful, love it.

Dan Deacon - 'Crystal Cat'
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vFlBJ1xZK10
No matter how many times I watch this, I still laugh from the beginning to the end. Instant classic. Wowza.

The Besnard Lakes - 'For Agent 13'
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMOyBHIGjnY
I just learned of this band last month (who would have guessed that a music store in Taiwan would have a Jagjaguwar listening display up?!) The last section of this video gives me goosebumps every time. Moving stuff.

Having seen the Kanye and Battles videos before, I can't wait to plow through and watch all of these videos. Keep posting this kind of stuff, I'm really loving these songs.

Good idea for a thread. I love music videos-the weirder the better, I say. Out of your video list there, I particularly liked the Bat For Lashes (song was good, too), Low (again, good song as well, although now I'm hungry after watching the clip :p), Feist, and Kanye ones, though they were all pretty interesting.

My picks-let's see here...

"Young Folks"-Peter, Bjorn & John:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=51V1VMkuyx0
I'm always reminded of that old show "Daria" when I see this one.

"Cupid's Chokehold/Breakfast In America"-Gym Class Heroes:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eiiU-Fky18s
I think both the song and video are funny :). Nice use of the Supertramp song as well.

"Keep Forgetting"-The Cinematics:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LqYYqAxgGMg
Good song, odd video-like how it's all in black and white.

"Sewn"-The Feeling:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yUrzcaIaixQ
Taking the song title literally. I really like these guys, this is one of my favorite songs of theirs-shame it's been shortened up in order to be a single, but ah, well.

"Don't Stop Now"-Crowded House:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vv7N_OHNFtE
Love the animation in this one.

"The Heinrich Maneuver"-Interpol:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QgxJaLZ-4Ug
Strange video. The ending made me go, "WTF?" the first time I saw it.

"An End Has A Start"-Editors:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NMKEHQqREMo
Interesting choreography in this one. I love the sorta new wave-y feel to it.

"Down The Line"-José González:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWwbTRtrwlU
Another odd video (pig face...?). Nice scenery, though, and a great song.

and finally...

"Long Road To Ruin"-Foo Fighters:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68qqyM-_K4w
This one made me laugh the first time I saw it. Love the cheesy '70s thing going on throughout.

Also, there was a video I saw a couple of times in the last month or so, think on MTV2 or something-the singer in it looked kinda like Borat, I wanna say...and at the end of it, he's standing at a window watching a funeral procession go by, and I think there's a bunch of kids with him-I'm trying to figure out who the artist was and what the song was, but I can't remember. Anyone know?

Gogol Bordello? Günter? Maybe neither, but those are the only two artists I can think of that look like Borat.

I've actually never seen the video for Heinrich Maneuver, that's pretty cool! I was going to list Young Folks as well, but when I looked it up I saw it was made in 2006, so I thought some people may complain, hehe. Regardless, the album came out in North America in '07, so I think it's still a good pick. I will watch the other vids you posted. More people need to post videos.

The poster formerly known as Cujo/Pinball Wizard just introduced me to this one today. Not surprisingly, I liked it a lot.

Muscles - 'Sweaty'
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7Ho2eYnaWc
Oh how I love Japan.

The name Gogol Bordello sounds vaguely familiar to me...that may be who it was. I'll keep searching-I just remember finding that video rather interesting, when I find out who it is, I'll post the link here. Thanks for your help either way :).

Yeah, it's a bit hard sometimes with these songs-sometimes a single will be released one year but won't take off until the following year, sometimes it's released in one part of the world at one point and another part of the world doesn't hear it until later...it's confusing.

I'm glad you liked the Interpol video, it is pretty neat. I'm always curious who comes up with the ideas for some of these videos, there's some very creative people out there.

I fully agree. Anyone got any other suggestions, bring 'em on. And watch away, hope you like some of the other videos shared here as well.

Hehe, yeah, I know somebody who likes Japanese music, and it always sounds so interesting. I've checked out a bit here and there and like what I've heard.

That was a rather catchy song, good one to dance to at a club. Cute video, too-the girl in it is pretty.

Did "This Is Not A Movie or Maybe" come out this year or last? The song is great, of course, but Will Sheff's hair makes the video less than stellar.

Have you seen the new Battles video for the song Tonto?

There are very few (official) Okkervil River videos I like, unfortunately. For Real is pretty cool.

The Tonto vid is pretty cool, not as cool as Atlas, but still good. The Tonto EP comes with a bonus DVD that has both vids on it.

Ahhhh, there we go, thank you! And thanks again to u2popmofo for your help, too :). Much appreciated, guys.

Need to hear the song a couple more times to comment on it, but the video's another one for this year that I like. I'll check out some of the recent additions to this thread, too.

Haha, oh, man, that video is in total Barry White territory, and I actually kinda like it. I also haven't been able to get the M.I.A. and Kanye songs out of my head (saw the M.I.A. video, as well as the "Atlas" one, on TV last night, by the way). I really like the Kanye video, too.

Liars - 'Houseclouds'
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzZVvM8Dyzs

LOL, I like the way that kitten's reacting to the shirtless guy :p :cute:. What a strange video.

I've watched this one three times, and every single time I've had tears in my eyes by the end. Wow. I like how the storyline didn't go where I thought it might. Great pick.

And while I'm not all that keen on the vocals, the Death Breath video shared is awesome. A mini old-fashioned horror movie-excellent.

Here's one I've seen on TV in recent times that's kinda interesting-take a wild guess what video this is reminiscent of:

I personally found the video for An End Has A Start extremely underwhelming, I was anticipating something much more inriguing for such an explosive, exhillarating song. The video for Racing Rats by the Editors is cooler....

Heinrich Manuever is calss though, Interpol can do no wrong.

A nomination from me, Travis' MY EYES - can't post a You Tube link cause the computer I'm on is stuffed, but search for it on Youtube for a laugh....

Hmm. I'll have to check that one out.

Disagree on "An End Has A Start"-I think the dancers are striking and again, the whole thing has this new wave feel to it that I really like, but eh... Shame we can't be in the business of making music videos, huh :D? I've always thought that'd be kind of a fun job to have, coming up with video concepts.

The more I hear/see from Interpol, the more interested in them I am. Their "Heinrich Maneuver" video is one that I feel compelled to watch every time it airs-it's one of those videos where you have to focus on everything that's going on.

Interesting video-that weird water thing they're sliding around in looks like fun! Heh.

Yeh for me the choreography in An End Has a Start just doesn't seem to compliment the song at all, but again, that's just me....

My Eyes is a song about having a baby, and I think the waterslide represents the arrival of the baby....and you gotta love it when Travis role play.

Defintely one of my favorites, another classic hilarious Foo Fighters video, yet this one is for a much more serious song than the likes of "Learn to Fly" so that seems to make it even more interesting.

My other favorites off the top of my head are The Shins "Phantom Limb", Snow Patrol's "Signal Fire" (both featuring little kid school plays), and Bloc Party's "I Still Remember".
