In reverse order:

3) Mystic River

Sean Penn is his generation's best actor.

2) Fahrenheit 9/11

Anything that continues to expose George Bush as a fraud is good in my book.

1) The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou

Bill Murray always cracks me up

I finally saw Finding Neverland. Another great 2004 flick that I'd add to my list (if I could edit it, that is).

1. Phantom of the Opera

2. Kill Bill vol. 2.
3. The Passion of the Christ (not due to religious fervor, but I thought it was extremely well done)
4. Finding Neverland
5. Garden State
6. The Terminal
7. Hero
8. For sheer cheesiness, David Wenham and a shirtless Hugh Jackman--Van Helsing

Wow, this list was longer than I meant it to be. If I had seen Closer, the Incredibles, or Motorcycle Diaries I might have have put them on my list.

Everything else this year (Troy, Harry Potter, King Arthur) was extremely disappointing to me.
