I totally thought that the album was unjustly maligned, whereas the new album was unjustly not crucified. If somebody busted Casablancas in the knee with a lead pipe or something, I wouldn't be too broken up. That's all I'm sayin'.

Anyway, I gotta give you props for sportin' such an unconventional pick. While I loved the album, though, I find it shocking that it's your fifteenth of all time. I'm curious--how come you love it soooo much? What's your favorite song on it? Etc.?

I think it is one of the most complete albums I've ever heard. It's one of the few albums I can start with song #1 and love every song until the end. It is very difficult to pick a favorite. I liked the radio releases but my favorite is probably the album closer - "I Can't Win"

I liked their first album, I don't like their new album (they unfortunately tried to please the idiot critics). But Room On Fire is in my top 15 because it reminds of the Stone Roses debut - a complete, coherent collection of songs that simple don't get old for me.
