Three beautiful sisters, their hot-blooded father, an exacting boss, a quirky funeral director and a stream of anguished patrons round out the cast of this unique show.? Shonna is the Head Mortician/Embalmer who brought the rest of her family into the business.? Younger sister Emily is the office manager and Funeral Director in training.? Eldest sister Melissa is Assistant Funeral Director.? Chuck, Funeral Assistant, body remover and amateur boxing trainer also happens to be Shonna, Melissa and Emily's father.??The Boss Rick was born in a funeral home, John is the Apprentice Embalmer, and Funeral Director David's perfectionism rounds out the team. Together they deal with the business of death and their own lives in a very human way.?

The funeral home where this show is filmed is in my neck of the woods. Well, actually it's the neighborhood north of us... but still pretty damn close. I'm just waiting to hear about a lawsuit from a grieving family because their loved was shown on this show.

I saw the show...I actually liked it.
I didn't find it morbit or icky, I had no clue about what happens in a funeral home.
I'll be watching the new episode tonight.

Its the real world gone mortuary.....

Anyone catch Autopsy #9 on HBO last week...

The forensic specialists tracked down a felony hit and run motorist who fled the scene of a major accident; the suspect left two kids burning in their car as he fled the scene on foot. Naturally, the car was reported stolen within hours and the suspect provided a voluntary interview to the police, all the while his hand is wrapped in bandages; he continued total denial of any involvement in this loss.

The CSI guys pulled the airbag from the suspect's car and not only got DNA evidence but the suspect's facial impression and chest hairs for comparison purposes...

Now serving life in prison W/O parole!

When I was growing up, some friends of the family owned a funeral home. They lived above the funeral home

They had daughters aroudnd the same age and my sister and I. We once had a sleep over at their house ... as you can imagine I didn't sleep very much.
