But itunes just makes it soooo (so-ooo?) much easier to manage all your music in one place! Even if you only buy CDs and don't like mp3s, you can still create playlists and burn CDs from there!

iTunes is a tool of the devil

When I was between laptops, I was using a really old desktop, and iTunes seemed really bloated and slowed it down.

My daughter uses it to put stuff on her iPod, but for listening on the computer, she still uses wmp, even though she has a new computer.

I actually have a 2GB Samsung YP-K3, but that comes with its own software.

Even if iTunes makes playlist-making easier, it still takes up an unnecessary amount of space. I use Rhapsody's jukebox (which I pay for) for putting together playlists, and use WMP for everything else.

Other apps do the same thing, and they're less bloated.

I have no playlists to listen to right now, so I'm checking out my iPod's shuffle.

Don't know if I'll be doing it much longer, though.

I just use iTunes because it's the easiest thing for me.

Windows Media Player, WinAmp, and Realplayer all gave me problems with syncing with my iPod, but that was when I had a 3rd gen, 10 GB one. Things may have changed, but not enough for me to switch my default music program yet.
