Well the odds of me getting to Monaco aren't all that great. So I'd best take the opportunity to check out the action on the river. Was it Amanda who had a hankering for some speed on the water.?If I play my cards right...the joker!!!!....you never know.

in case you were wondering

South High almost won the Silver Fern & Peter Ball Cup, almost:D but not this year.they are a new squad, first go at Rugby Union for some of them.
Plus the games were held on 2 consecutive days, in almost heat wave conditions. it went winter, BANG!! straight into summer that week. My son couldn't play in the soccer final, serious cramps(dehydrated I think)and he came home very sunburned. not too happy about that. Anyway....as a result(again imho) he came down witha bug, bad cold etc. just when school workload is really increased.

So because of that we didn't see the F1 boats.(see there is a point and connection here):sexywink: the local woman who was leading the competition after the 2nd round, crashed her boat on a training run, She is ok , but couldn't race the boat that weekend. Bummer eh? My o my, one of the drivers was in the newspaper. I just presumed they would all be men. She was gorgeous, stunning.hat shouldn't surprise me really.

I took hello pamela and gabfest(teehee) in the daily double.
Crikeys, lost $4. Next time little girl.

and anyone who knows me, knows my love of the Bears Soccer Club. Grand final games this Friday night and Saturday. Our Under 16's are the only team from our club left in the comp. Go tHE BEARS!!
Sunday is our presentation day and AGm. hub and I are standing down after 6 years on the committee(only 2 of them were we both there, best not to i found, gave the others a laugh anyway:laugh: ) And our number one Bear's supporter, has died in the mean time. so as retiring president, hub will have to write a good speech. It will be happy/sad/happy occassion

So that's my sports report for today
Go t HE BEARS

Ayrton Senna used to make me:drool: and :)

as does Paul Newman...but you know that already:wink:
I follow tomi hakenen a bit, my son watches the rally driving on the weekend TV.
Should I tell my on's car story?Aw go on..... he recently won a prize from a car parts magazine he buys. It always has a girl and a car on the cover. He received a calendar and hat, keyring and windscreen sticker, which to my horror he put on his car!!! It advertises a website that I am not even game to visit. I am so embarrassed now when I borrow his car. I try to pretend it says groticars.
My bro in law sits up at all hours following the Grand Prix on TV .I dont, I myself like trail bikes and horses . .....
If anyone reads this and remembers my young cowgirl friend who went to Fort Worth <Texas for the World Paint Horse Show....she got some good job offers while she was there. She came home, grabbed a new toothbrush and some of her favourite boots and is back the US on a six month visa, applying for 12 or some such....oh GOD!! she'll marry a cowboy and not come home. I missed my chance to photograph her. I'm very pleased for her, at 18 she is one of our leading hippiologist....I read that in the newspaper about her, it means she knows an awful lot about horses .
I better ZOOM outta here.
cheers laura and MM if you get to read this. I know you like horses too:wave:

I think we had better implement a rescue plan

Update on the update...my cowgirl friend...her friend was on the soccer sidelines last night so I got the good oil.
She came 10th in a world class event. Bravo!!!
She is not in the USA.....she is in Mexico. Her mother is worried cause she has lost so much weight, she is working so hard, no time to eat. I think she had better be home soon or we had all better go over there and check this joint out asap...ideas person. No , she's a tough cookie and she must be amonst some very fine paint horses. She'd be in heaven.. I'm stoked for her.

THE BEARS!!!!!! U16 Minor Premiers 2002...no shame in that( I distinctly heard the wheels come off their game about half way through the second half, the shoulders went down.)
Two of the players are girls, one of them playing her first season. Go Zo!!GO ZO!!! I had a littel Zoe cheer squad going, she ALMOST got 2 goals...girlpower!!!
I  THE BEARS!!!

What else?...Grafton Ghosts - 2002 North Coast Group One Rugby League Premiers.....I listened to the second half of that game on the radio...so close, anyone could have won right up to the whistle.

may as well finish the tale...

How remiss of me....our Under 8's won their division. They don't play a final series at that age.
One of the coaches had to be in NZ( ill mother-in-law). he wrote a heartfelt letter to his team and the club , which my hub read out...said a lot about what soccer means to the community.
His Under11 players still made the speech they had prepared for him...short and sweet...something like..."we were just a bunch of kids, you made us a team.."
When my friend died, his teenage son and 2 of his friends, a boy and a girl (Zoe the girl who I mentioned up there), took over his coaching position. We implemented a new award this year
The Junior Club Person of The Year......it was given to Craig's son.

His wife did a terrific job organising all the trophies on his behalf. She is the 2003 equipment officer and trophy organiser (both rather full on jobs, one at the beginning of the season , one at the end) Good on her...I can't imagine what she feels
I flitted about with my digital camera, trying to capture some moments at our 2002 Presentation...We're only a bush club, nothing fancy
but lots and lots of:heart:
walk On, be strong
GO THE BEARS
