Oh God. I saw the name. I thought it was her. I prayed it wasn't. Clicked the link. And am now...very near tears.

I was watching the coverage on TV this afternoon remembering Estelle Getty. She was so funny as Sophia on Golden Girls, she will be sorely missed. RIP Estelle.

Would you believe I still watch reruns of the GG's.

My grandmother passed away of dementia too, its very sad but at least she is mindfully at peace.

My brother calls my mom Mrs. Petrillo.

loved her, even more at 30 than i did when i tried to stay up late enough to see the show by staying very, very quiet in the TV room hoping my parents wouldn't notice that it was past my bedtime.

Dorothy: Mr. Gordon is probably over seventy by now. He's practically ancient.

Sophia: Seventy is ancient? If I met a man that age who looked half way decent, I'd be on my back before you could say 'I've fallen and I can't get up'.

indeed, thank you for being a friend.

I did too, especially Estelle's character, Sophia. She was a wonderful actress.

Rest in peace, Estelle, you will be missed.

Without Estelle Getty, The Golden Girls would've sucked. She had the best lines and delivered them like a champ.

RIP Estelle
