Women's Hockey is gaining quite a bit of popularity.

In Minnesota - in the past seven years, just about every High School has added a girls hockey program (varsity) and every college has added a varsity womens program. The University of Minnesota has built a seperate "sheet" of ice and arena for the women's program. In fact, many towns in Minnesota have added "sheets" of ice to accomodate the female youth programs.
