Edge invented "The edge" sound???

The biggest similarites with Pink Floyd and U2 come from Pink Floyds the Division Bell, (at least to me) I can hear alot of similarites, but also diffrent techniques(like bends) or diffrent things. Other than that you never hear the edge finger pick power chords, or use the bend, or even play that fast, but his sounds are full and complete, and they fill the song nicely.
