When I was up in QLD last month, I was nursing this hot chocolate, drinking it slowly since it was so hot, while Mum complained about her coffee being cold and drank it very fast. She then had a sip of my hot chocolate and remarked it was only two-thirds as hot as her coffee. All I could do was laugh and shake my head.

In any case, here's an EDI Comeng running from Jolimont to Flinders Street. This train would've been packed with punters from an AFL game at the G.

Not bad, i like it.

Well, I'm willing to go with Ay-von. Christchurchians know best.

Axxa, what do you think of Here and Now on Nowhere? Personally it's probably my favourite Ride song, and since it mentions trains I thought it'd be one of your favourites.

Yeah, it's insane. I feel like my tongue's about to get burnt with the temperature I like a hot chocolate to be at the start (just so it isn't freezing at the end), and for someone to say it's lukewarm ... how is their tongue still, you know, working?

Perhaps tongues stop sensing heat so well with age

Hell yes, it's a great song. I think the final four songs is the best run of tracks on the album.

And the train rushes past
Like a day gone too fast ...

Here's a closer view of the aforeposted train between Jolimont and Flinders Street. This is taken from an EXCELLENT spot we found along Wellington Parade. You could actually walk onto the track if you were stupid enough. I can't believe it's possible to get track access so close to Flinders Street Station. I can understand the line through Royal Park not being fenced, but this seems like a security risk. I'm cool with it if it gives me good photos, though!

This might interest Ian. Notice Rod Laver Arena (or is it Vodafone Arena? I mix them up, since they're so near each other) in the washed out background. This is taken from Russell Street, at the east end of Federation Square.

Incidentally, the washed out background is a rather good illustration of how I see at the best of times on sunny afternoons.

Six rather decently sized carriages. Each electric multiple unit in Melbourne consists of three carriages nowadays; that train in question is two Comeng EMUs coupled together.
