Fans of Ozzy Osbourne and Motley Crue will recognize the name.
Randy Castillo, drummer in Ozzy Osbourne's band from 1984 thru 1994 passed away last night after battling cancer for over a year. More recently Castillo had replaced Tommy Lee as Motley Crue's drummer, playing on their most recent album "New tattoo" in 2000. Castilllo was forced to miss Motley's 2000 tour after surgery for a ruptured ulcer. While recovering from that surgery, a cancerous lump was found in his jaw. Reports last year from Castillo were that he was recovering well, and starting work on a new project with bassist Mike Inez (Ozzy, Alice in Chains). No news of a relapse had been released until Nikki Sixx posted on Motley Crue's official website last night that Castillo had passed away.
