I was a huge Jimmy Eat World fan when they were still small. I still like them a lot, but I really hate how over-played they were on the radio. Too much of anything can be bad.

Weezer is one of my favorite bands. While they still have that 'nerd rock' image going, they really do make some fantastic music. They make some extremely solid albums.

I absolutely love Cake's last 2 albums (especially the most recent effort). It's odd because most people prefer the first 2. I'm eagerly awaiting the new one that's supposed to be out this year.

1. Apollo Four Fourty Never heard of them.
2. Daryal Hall & John Oates Yeah, I do like some of their songs. :).
3. Incubus Not really into them-"Drive" got played to death.
4. The Offsspring I liked some of their songs from the late 90s-"Pretty Fly For A White Guy" and "Why Don't You Get A Job?" are the big two that come to mind right now.
5. Simply Red I've only heard a couple of their songs, but I like them.
6. Dc Talk Heard of them, just never heard anything by them, so I can't say.
7. E.L.O. Yep, like some of their songs, too.
8. Jimmy Eat World I've only heard their song "The Middle", and I personally hate that song (heh, talk about overplayed songs...).
9. Weezer Yeah, I like what I've heard by them (which isn't much-like, three or four songs).
10. Collective Soul Yes. Again, haven't heard much here, either, but I do like the songs I have heard. The lead singer's got an interesting voice.
11. Live Yeah :)heart:s "The Dolphin's Cry"). Not too fond of the last song I heard by them, "Heaven" (again, a victim of overplay), but I do like some of their other songs.
12. Ben Folds Only heard two songs of theirs, but again, liked those songs.
13. Guster Only heard "Amsterdam". It was okay.
14. Vertical Horizon Oh, wow...yeah, they weren't bad. I liked that "Best I Ever Had" song that came out a couple years back.
15. Jamouriqiou Love "Virtual Insanity" (and is it just me or can anyone else totally see Stevie Wonder doing that song?). I've also heard "Canned Heat"-that one was okay.
16. Cake Another group I've only heard a couple of songs by, but again, do like the songs-I find them to be quite amusing.
17. Lenny Kravtiz Not all that into his stuff overall. I do like "Are You Gonna Go My Way?", and "Again" had a good chorus.
18. 311 Only heard one song by them, and I can't even remember exactly how that song goes, so...can't really say.
19. Bon Jovi Yeah, they're not bad. They've got some good stuff. I was hugely into them when I was, like, 3, 4 years old, and ever since my sister got into their music, I've gotten the chance to hear a lot more of their stuff, and, yeah, I don't mind them. :p.
20. The Cars Yes, they've got some good songs, too.
21. Our Lady Peace Only heard one song by them. It was okay.
22. Jim Brickman Didn't he do that one song with that girl called "The Simple Things"? That song was kinda nice.
23. New Order Can't get into their music much-I prefer Joy Division's musical style more, personally. But a couple of their songs are okay.

haha...dc talk!

some people gotta learn the hard way.
I used to listen to it when I was in junior High...no more though

Cake, Weezer, Ben Folds
these I like!

Incubus I'd like to know more of--I've only heard a bit of what they play on the radio and I really don't like it but I might like some of their other stuff.

Simply Red are, um, excuse the pun, simply horrible in my opinion. I can't stand them.

Weezer are pretty good--I borrowed my brother's copy of the Blue Album and I liked it although it's not something I'd go buy.

Live are very good...all I've heard by them are Lightning Crashes and Heaven--the latter was very overplayed, but Lightning Crashes is still one of my favourite songs.

Ben Folds is good as well--I like what I've heard from him quite a bit.

Really the only Vertical Horizon song I like is Give You Back, but that might be for more sentimental purposes than its caliber as a song. I think it's very good, though.

311, aigh. Um, I haven't heard much by them, but their terrible cover of Lovesong by the Cure is enough to put me off them for good.

The Cars I like a lot. I've only heard the songs that get played on the radio but I really like them. I'm really interested in hearing more of them.

I haven't heard anything by New Order but I would really like to--I like Joy Division except I'm not much for Ian Curtis's voice.

Hello!

THE CARS are an amamzing band ( You're All I Got Tonight , Let the Good Times Roll, Just What I Needed...I have loved them for years. They a re a classic that will never go out of style.

LIVE is my 2nd favorite band. I rarely go a day w/o listening to a Live song. I have a Live CD in my car a t all times.

INCUBUS I don't know much about. Some of their stuff sounds a little depressing. My mind could change though.

VERTICAL HORIZON a little bland to me.

OFFSPRING from what I know I like.

DARYL HALL and JOHN OATES extremely talented song writers but it is just noy my type of music.

LENNY KRAVITZ-Got to be in the mood. Love Mr. Cab Driver and Let Love Rule. I think he can be provacative.

BON JOVI-One or two songs I like but they tend to be a little too poppish for me.

Great topic.

1. Apollo Four Fourty -- i only knew that one song. the don't stop the rock thing, unless that wasn't them. but i hated it.

2. Daryal Hall & John Oates -- not a fan.

3. Incubus -- can tolerate them if i hear them once in a while, liked them before 'pardon me' got huge, and the overplaying killed them for me.

4. The Offsspring -- if someone else sang 'one fine day' (off the conspiracy of one album), then that would be good. but other than that, i have no use for them.

5. Simply Red -- never heard of them

6. Dc Talk -- never heard of them

7. E.L.O. -- not a fan at all

8. Jimmy Eat World -- alright on occasion

9. Weezer -- somewhat like

10. Collective Soul -- really good in that horrible, bland, late half of the 90s commecial rock sort of way. and i mean that in the best way possible.

11. Live -- one of my favorite bands. see? i put them in bold...

12. Ben Folds -- better as ben folds five

13. Guster -- only good on 'lost and gone forever', i'd like to check them out sometime live, but i'm not going to go out of my way, so unless they come back to the pioneer valley (which isn't too far from boston, people) i'll probably never see them, but i don't like the newest album, so i don't care too much.

14. Vertical Horizon -- hate them. i own a copy of 'everything you want' and remember buying it, and don't want to part with it, but i never listen to it and recognize it as over-produced crap.

15. Jamouriqiou -- was never a fan.

16. Cake -- i like.

17. Lenny Kravtiz -- pisses me off

18. 311 -- sometimes i like them

19. Bon Jovi -- hate with a passion.

20. The Cars -- indifferent.

21. Our Lady Peace -- older stuff, yes. post-that-album-wth-the-weird-robot-like-thing-on-the-cover, no.

22. Jim Brickman -- never heard of.

23. New Order -- more or less indifferent.

She grew on you, did she?

The only one on that list I really like is Ben Folds, although I used to really like Simply Red back in the day. I have happy memories of listening to them on my headphones on a train across Spain....
and they were great live, too. Whatever happened to them, I wonder. And I used to like the Cars and New Order but I couldn't seriously listen to them today except for nostalgic purposes.

meggie's list rocks (of course).

 Thanks for you contrubition. Here is my another list of bands I enjoy! ;)

1. Muse
2. Matchbox 20
3. Fatboy Slim
4. The Foo Fighters
5. Tears For Fears
6. 30 Seconds to Mars
7. Audioslave
8. The Beach Boys
9. The Eagles
10. Steve Miller Band
11. Blur
12. Madness
13. Jars of Clay
14. Sting
15. STXY
16. Eiffel 65
17. Jet
18. Journey
19. Nickelback
20. Hoobastank

Actually... :silent: I really like Matchbox Twenty. They were one of the first groups I ever liked, back when I was about ten. Now I realise that they aren't nearly as good as, say, U2, or R.E.M., or The Cure, but I haven't the heart to get rid of them.

I don't really like any of the other bands you mentioned, though I do have a certain fondness for the Beach Boys...

1. Muse Never heard anything by them.
2. Matchbox 20 They're okay. I like some of their songs. "Push" is, in my opinion, the best song they ever did. That's a great one.
3. Fatboy Slim Like what I've heard by them. I get a kick out of their videos for their songs (adore the "Weapon Of Choice" one-never fails to make me smile). Also, the song "The Rockafeller Skank" is an awesome song to dance along to..
4. The Foo Fighters They're not bad. The guys seem like pretty nice, cool people, too, so...can't go wrong there. :).
5. Tears For Fears They kick arse..
6. 30 Seconds to Mars Never heard anything by them.
7. Audioslave Only heard two songs by them. I liked that "Like A Stone" song.
8. The Beach Boys They're cool. Definitely got some classic songs.
9. The Eagles Also have some great stuff.
10. Steve Miller Band They're interesting. Their music's kinda different (in a good way).
11. Blur Only heard a couple of songs by them, too, but I like those songs (don't think you'll find many people out there who could resist singing along to "Song 2").
12. Madness Ooh, yeah, they've got some good stuff, too. Speaking of bands whose music is kinda different...
13. Jars of Clay I've only heard one song by them, and I can't recall how it goes right now...
14. Sting Like his music.
15. STXY I don't mind some of their songs. I've actually seen them in concert-they put on a good show.
16. Eiffel 65 Heh, only heard that "Blue" song (geez, this is taking me back to late middle school, early high school years here...). It was a fun song.
17. Jet Only heard two songs by these guys, too-I like "Are You Gonna Be My Girl?".
18. Journey Don't mind some of their songs, either.
19. Nickelback Not all that into them. Their music kinda bores me after a while, personally.
20. Hoobastank Didn't care much for this one song I've heard by them (can't remember what one it is now), but their new one, "The Reason" isn't bad (played a lot, but it's not bad). I kinda like the way the guy sings the song.

In regards to the lists IWasBored and meegannie posted-the Pixies aren't bad, but I haven't heard stuff from a lot of the artists you shared, meegannie, or I've only heard bits and pieces of one of their songs, so I can't really say. And I've never heard of the bands IWasBored shared, so...

I'll mull over and come up with a list of artists for me to post here tomorrow...this is a fun thread we've all got going here. :D.

Angela

1. Muse - I like their music, but the lead vocals are kinda overbearing
2. Matchbox 20 - a bit bland, but they have a few really good songs
3. Fatboy Slim - good stuff
4. The Foo Fighters - a few good songs, but I'm not much into that sort of meat-and-potatoes rock
5. Tears For Fears - know nothing by them
6. 30 Seconds to Mars - ditto
7. Audioslave - ditto
8. The Beach Boys - they have classics galore for sure
9. The Eagles - don't know their music enough to comment
10. Steve Miller Band - never heard
11. Blur - never felt compelled to buy an album, but their Best Of is one of my favourite best of Cds. Great singles band.
12. Madness - never heard
13. Jars of Clay - ditto
14. Sting - enjoy a lot of his songs, although dullish in the long run
15. STXY - never heard
16. Eiffel 65 - ditto
17. Jet - derivative as hell but very enjoyable
18. Journey - not familiar with their stuff
19. Nickelback - as average as average gets
20. Hoobastank - ditto
