Do you groove to Tennant and Lowe?

Is that a great album cover or what?

Okay... confession time! Who here likes the Pet Shop Boys? And why isn't there even a single thread about them? Guilty pleasure?

Let's face it. They've made some 'delicious' totally danceable pop through the late 80s and early 90s. And they're still going. Their lyrics are sprinkled quite liberally with that cheeky smart British wit. It's definitely NOT pop on the lines of Britney or NSYNC! Yet they remain grossly underrated esp. in the States!

West End Girls
Opportunities
Suburbia
It's A Sin
What Have I Done To Deserve This?
Rent
Always On My Mind
Left To My Own Devices
Was It Worth It?
Can You Forgive Her?
Go West
I Wouldn't Normally Do This Kind Of Thing
Se A Vida E
Yesterday When I Was Mad

great songs!

Yes I've always had time for them. I don't have any albums but I have two 'Best of' collections, which are fairly comprehensive.

Intelligent pop music - a dying art, unfortunately.

so true!!! I was expecting your reply btw!

I got Discography, the singles collection a while back for real cheap. But kinda wish I'd gotten Pop Art instead.

I remember seeing that Actually cover in a rock book somewhere once...definitely an eye-catcher, for some reason.

Anywho, yeah, I definitely like what I've heard by the Pet Shop Boys. They've got some really good songs. "West End Girls" is just classic, and I still say that "What Have I Done To Deserve This?" is one of the coolest duets I've ever heard .

Like "Opportunities" and "It's A Sin" and songs like that, too . I should keep an eye out for a best of CD of theirs or something sometime.

2003's PopArt is your best bet. Or just get Very.

Best cover of Streets ever.

Fantastic version of 'Always On My Mind' as well, and some excellent originals.

I'm not so sure about that one, but it is a very good version of the song.
I also have only Discography, but I do want have Very. My favourite songs are Opportunities (Let's Make Lots Of Money) and Being Boring.

BTW, I'm a bit disappointed that Pop Art is two words.

Oh man - I love the PSB. Seriously 'In Denial' (the duet with Kylie fron 'Nightlife' is fuckin' awesome...

In fact, considering my rampant heterosexuality, the level of my fandom is quite disturbing...

oh man, I wish there weren't so many homophobes in the US! Maybe then there'd be more PSB appreciation.

True (even though I am in Australia) they seem to be written off as a "gay" band - which may be at least 75% true in regards to the band members - but the tunes man! The tunes!

'Can You Forgive Her'!
'Being Boring'!
'Suburbia'!
'Red Letter Day'!

That's it - it's time to bust out PopArt again.
