I wonder if I could have passed off material from the first wave of the Dunedin Sound as retro.

Probably wouldn't have even had to try with stuff like Tally Ho! by The Clean ...

I'm trying to figure out if I know anything by Midnight Oil

Some of their songs have been in previous DIs, e.g. Forgotten Years and The Dead Heart, my two favourite Oils tracks.

I had hoped that was the song they sang! I had that stuck in my head all morning.

but this song on Hardy's list, I don't feel the same about that one :(

On Man, thank you webcomics thread, I have now found a little piece of Heaven on the internet:

garfield minus garfield

What a depressing/hilarious site.

No, I'm just familiar with the proggy first couple. :reject:

Actually, most people don't know the last few albums that well.

They had three stages:

Proggy albums with long compositions (1974-1978)

Shorter songs that are more reflective of Todd's A Wizard, A True Star and Todd (1979-1982)

Then more synth, atmospherical stuff that can only be described as new wave (1983-1985)

Once you hear Crybaby you'll instantly understand why it is retro.

Khan and Ashley, you're both totally on to beat me on this thread. I'm off to the ophthalmologist in just over an hour, then I'm taking the long way home so I can do some railfanning and grocery shopping.
