I don't know what my top five rock songs are. Once you get to the upper tier, it's impossible to say what's better than what (which is why all of Rolling Stone's Top Whatever of All Time lists suck).

I absolutely agree. These journalists are older and tend to focus on older music simply because it came first and therefore must be better. Sure, there are gleaming exceptions such as The Beatles, Bob Dylan and Stevie Wonder to name a few. But I saw some old one-hit-wonder R&B girl groups in there who have no place other than the fact that they were the first of their kind. (Not saying Destiny's Child or SWV deserve a place on the list instead.)

I really could go on and on here.
