The Diamondbacks' list of walking wounded continued to grow Tuesday when catcher Chris Snyder was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a left testicular fracture.
He will have surgery today.
Woes continue for D-Backs, Johnson in 8-6 loss
The injury, suffered Monday when he was hit by a foul ball, was discovered when Snyder underwent an ultrasound prior to Arizona's 8-6 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers.
"We're hopefully looking at the 15-day period where he's back after the All-Star break," manager Bob Melvin said.
To fill Snyder's spot, Arizona recalled Robby Hammock from Triple-A Tucson. Miguel Montero started at catcher Tuesday.
Snyder was hitting .246 on the season with seven homers and 33 RBIs. In 28 games with the Sidewinders, Hammock hit .315 with four home runs and 16 RBIs.
Snyder joins pitcher Edgar Gonzalez (strained elbow) and left fielder Eric Byrnes (hamstring), who was officially added Tuesday, on the DL.
