Welcome to the eighth and final match of the fourth round for Interference Desert Island VI! The premise of this game is that all of the Interferencers have been stranded on a desert island and we can only take up to 160 minutes of music with us (either as a continuous iPod playlist or two 80 minute CDs or any other format of our choosing). The object is to see which forum member can fit the most musical goodness into these 160 minutes.

For every win, each player will receive three points. If there is a tie, each player gets two points. If a player loses a match but is within three votes of the winner, that player will earn a single point.

At the beginning of each round, I will include the updated standings. Remember, the top two from each group moves on to the quarterfinals.

The Sad Punk took an easy win over KhanadaRhodes in Match 4, 11-3, keeping her in the race for a quarterfinal spot.

The last match of the fourth round is Joey788 and phanan doing battle. Below are their playlists.

STUCK IN TWILIGHT

Since this is my first playlist and I came up with it in between writing papers for the end of the semester, I don’t really have a cover or well-thought out story to go with the playlist. I decided that I wanted two contrasting CDs more in terms of how they feel than anything else. So I separated them into a day CD and a night CD. The day CD seems to have more of an energetic feel that lasts until the last song, “Daddy’s Gone.” I see this song as being a good transition into the beginning of dusk. The night CD starts off with all the pleasure and temptation the night brings. The second half of the disc slows down to show the result of recklessly giving in to those desires. There are some well-known and some lesser-known bands in the playlist and hopefully there’s something for everyone. I hope you enjoy the songs I chose as well as how it flows.

Babble

The title says it all. I wasn’t going for any theme or concept, I didn’t care if there wasn’t enough variety, and I didn’t mind that most of the songs on this were new. It was simply a playlist of things that I’d put together recently of tracks that I was really enjoying at the moment, and instead of creating a playlist specifically for Desert Island, I just took what I already had and went with it.

The American Dollar – “Rudiments Of A Spiritual Life” – The Technicolor Sleeps (5:04)
Fever Ray – “When I Grow Up” – Fever Ray (4:31)
Pure Reason Revolution – “Bloodless” – Amor Vincit Omnia (4:55)
Kyte – “The Lost Blood” – Science For The Living (4:53)
Neon Neon – “Steel Your Girl” – Stainless Style (3:34)
Friendly Fires – “White Diamonds” – Friendly Fires (4:13)
Phoenix – “1901” – Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (3:15)
Metric – “Twilight Galaxy” – Fantasies (4:54)
M83 – “Graveyard Girl (Radio Edit)” – Graveyard Girl Promo (4:24)
Cut Copy – “Far Away” – Far Away EP (5:03)
Roxette – “Fading Like A Flower” – Joyride (3:54)
Stars – “Personal” – In Our Bedroom After The War (4:07)
Moby – “Everloving” – Play (3:26)
Mono – “Follow The Map” – Hymn To The Immortal Wind (3:56)
Sigur Rós – “Hljómalind” – Hvarf/Heim (4:56)
Maybeshewill – “He Films The Clouds, Pt. 2” – Not For Want Of Trying (6:43)
Radiohead – “House Of Cards” – In Rainbows (5:28)
