Desert Island VI Album Game: Round 3, Match 8

Please vote for the playlist you LIKE THE MOST.

Welcome to the eighth and final match of the third round for Interference Desert Island VI! The premise of this game is that all of the Interferencers have been stranded on a desert island and we can only take up to 160 minutes of music with us (either as a continuous iPod playlist or two 80 minute CDs or any other format of our choosing). The object is to see which forum member can fit the most musical goodness into these 160 minutes.

For every win, each player will receive three points. If there is a tie, each player gets two points. If a player loses a match but is within three votes of the winner, that player will earn a single point.

At the beginning of each round, I will include the updated standings. Remember, the top two from each group moves on to the quarterfinals.

hardyharhar nipped LMP in the fourth match, 9-8. LMP still collects an important point for finishing within three votes.

Match 8 finishes up our third round, with bono_212 and onebloodonelife facing off. Below are their playlists.

Robert's Fucking Despair Knows No Geographic Boundaries...I Mean...He Is Upset. So Take A Little Pity On The Guy Why Don't You?

I really don't have much to say about this list. Listening to it makes me extremely happy, that's for sure. I tried not to let current events in my life taint it too much, but, well, that's just not entirely possible, as, I find with music, you listen to the music that fits the mood your in. So, maybe I am semi-attempting to give an explanation for why my list is a little "poppier" than average, but, really, I created something I enjoy, and I hope you all can get a bit of entertainment out of it as well.

A Journey, Not a Destination

I had a loose narrative in my mind as I was making this list: basically, a person is moving through life, and we're looking in as this person falls in and out of love. Then, after a period of discouragement, finds him/herself ready and willing to love again. Listen with that in mind, if you choose. Mostly though, it's simply a collection of songs that I adore. Enjoy!

10. Fleet Foxes - "Mykonos" - Sun Giant EP (4:35)
11. Sebadoh - "Soul and Fire" - Bubble & Scrape (3:47)

What genre gives a more divided reaction? Post-rock/prog rock or rap and hip-hop?

Prog rock, I'd say. Most people who don't like the genre want absolutely nothing to do with it, whereas with hip hop, you have a little more crossover appeal.

Out of curiosity, is there any chance we have one of those mini-tournaments after this installment of Desert Island is finished? We've pretty much had one a year the past few years with the Prog/Symphonic/Retro island games.

Yeah, we'll probably have another mini at some point this year. Not sure what it will be, but we'll come up with something.
