Welcome to the sixth match of the first round for Interference Desert Island VI! The premise of this game is that all of the Interferencers have been stranded on a desert island and we can only take up to 160 minutes of music with us (either as a continuous iPod playlist or two 80 minute CDs or any other format of our choosing). The object is to see which forum member can fit the most musical goodness into these 160 minutes.

For every win, each player will receive three points. If there is a tie, each player gets two points. If a player loses a match but is within three votes of the winner, that player will earn a single point.

At the beginning of each round, I will include the updated standings. Remember, the top two from each group moves on to the quarterfinals.

If you haven't listened to all the playlists, and you don't think you'll have time to get through them, I would urge everyone to at least review how each playlist is structured and, if possible, to check out the sequencing and flow of the songs. I'd also take the time to listen to a song by an artist you are unfamiliar with, or any song by an artist you usually dislike, as sometimes you may hear something you never thought you would have from that artist.

LMP took the fourth match, defeating KhanadaRhodes, 14-6.

Match 6 features impy13 and Mr. V. Below are their playlists.

COLOURS

This is probably as close to an autobiographical playlist as I'll get. This just sounds like my life at the moment. While there is a common theme or two, there's no story you need to follow or anything. The songs were chosen because of either their lyrical relevance, personal meaning, or contribution to the overall tone of the playlist.

There is a lot of different music here, with genres like pop, rock, shoegaze, indie, alternative, electronica, Britpop, piano rock, post-punk, experimental, neo-psychedelia and synthpop. With this in mind I have tried to make the transitions between these as seamless as possible - and indeed, in some instances, two songs almost become one, which is very pleasing.

I have no idea what the cover art is, but I did it one night when I was in an altered state and it just fitted with the music perfectly, so I'm sticking with it.

What I can say is that I love all the music on here. I thoroughly enjoyed putting this playlist together, and I hope you get something out of it, or at the very least, enjoy listening to it.

1. Sonic Youth - "Teen Age Riot" - Daydream Nation (6:59)

Competition master list.

Have fun!

Impy always brings the indietastic goodness, but Mr. V's list owns most everything in this tournament.

This was tough, since I really enjoyed both lists a great deal. Mr. V's was just fucking epic, even if impy's has a deaf girl speak-singing. Seriously though, lots of good stuff to dive into in impy's (Passion Pit, The Do, Shearwater, Grizzly Bear) that I probably wouldn't have before, or wouldn't put to the priority list immediately.

For Mr. V though, "Street Lights" leading into "Just Like Honey" could be the most electronically-induced melancholic experience I've had listening to something in a very, very long time. High praise, good sir.

Two great lists. Not unlike the matchup of Kobe Bryant and Hedo Turkoglu in this year's NBA finals.

These are probably my two favorite lists on the tournament, it's just impossible to choose. I'm leaning towards impy for the indiestatic element, but I just can't decide who to go for.

You guys did a great job, congrats.

Agree. Both these lists were my taste. I went with Mr. V, but it was damn close. I loved all the indie on impy's list, some of which I already knew and some of which I had not heard before. Mr. V's has one of my favourite starts in the tournament with the 1-2 punch of Teen Age Riot and Obstacle 1.
